Can someone please explain Borat to me?
I just don't freakin' get it. I've never been an Ali G fan, and I just don't understand why he is EVERYWHERE. He is annoying as hell and he is NOT funny.

I actually liked Ali G (the movie "Ali G in da house" was funnier than his TV show) but not a fan of Borat.
The character Borat is supposedly from a country (Ezkhaban or something like that?) in the middle east and is learning about USA I think? So it's like a cultural satire.

Borat is a journalist from Kasahkstan who is visiting America, exploring the culture (sic) and trying to make sense of it all. Which channel is the satire on?

He is everywhere. Never seen anything he's been in, only heard him on Howard Stern once and he wasn't what I would call hilarious on that.....
Looks semi entertaining I guess...maybe I'll catch the movie in like 3 yrs when it's on Comedy Central.

In the Ali G TV shows there was usually a sketch involving Borat. He was a minor character who's now made a movie and assumed a life of his own.

The trailers for the movie made me laugh, I want to see it. He has a few gags involving him exposing anti semitic behavior in the U.S. that is sad but funny at the same time (He himself is Jewish but his character I believe acts anti semitic at times).

Sacha Baron Cohen (Ali G/Borat) is HOT! Aussie actress Isla Fisher (I think she's been in some OC/Dawsons Creek type TV crap) has already snagged him though.
