    Default Teen movies you loved

I have been trying to build a video library for my daughter who is about to trun 13. I am looking for movies for sleepovers - young chick flicks if you will. So far I have: 16 Candles, Pretty in Pink, Some Kind of Wonderful, St Elmos Fire, Saved

    What can you suggest?

Breakfast Club, 10 Things I hate about you, She's all that, Save the Last Dance, ( this is one of my all time favorite genres) I am having a brain fart though...... " SLeepover", > That one is perfect. Some are a little too advanced........... getting her any scary movies???? "She's All that" is perfect, "10 things i hate about you" is good to, no sex.

Ever After- I LOVED that movie as an early teen. That was the Cinderella movie with Drew Barrymore, I thought it was fantastic.

Dirty Dancing- I've loved it since I was probably around 10, still watch it every so often.

    Grease is a good one.

Mean Girls is REALLY funny, it's a "new classic", even though it has Hohan.

And all the ones mistify said are great too (can't attest to Sleepover though, I never saw it). 10 Things I Hate About You and Breakfast Club are both on my list of favorites.

I saw Sixteen Candles in the theatre when I was 13 and laughed my ass off. Course, it was a different time then....but the flick holds up over time imho.

Sputnik Yeah you are right but she asked for age appropriate for 13 yr olds having a sleepover.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and Now and Then would be my top picks.

I keep having to edit this to add more as I remember them!! Here are some from my personal video library in middle school/high school:

10 Things I Hate about You
    Bring It On
    Center Stage
    Grease

Heathers (the themes of suicide and school shootings might be too extreme for today)
    Mean Girls
    A Cinderella Story
The Divine Secrets of the YaYa Sisterhood (there is one frightening/more mature scene involving child abuse)
    Jumanji
Wild America (JTT flick that my girlfriends and I used to go crazy over at slumber parties)
    Dumb and Dumber
    The Truman Show
    The Beautician and the Beast
    Pleasantville
    Ever After
    Casper
    Josie and the Pussycats
    The Addams Family Values
    Can't Hardly Wait
    Bedazzled
    13 Going on 30

Some more recent ones are RV (I really didn't want to see it but surprisingly I really enjoyed it) and Stick It!

I actually saw Dirty Dancing at a sleepover when I was like 10 or 11, that was why I put it on the list. I saw it when I was younger than 13.

These are great suggestions! My daughter has a sleepover every weekend with a group of friends. Every other weekend it is at my house. This list of movies will be great for them to watch. Some are questionable. I would allow my daughter to see them all and will ask the other parents in advance if it is ok.

    Thanks! Sherry

My immediate thought of teen movies was Van Wilder and American Pie but somehow im not sure thats really what you had in mind!!

anywho everything that already been said with the addition of Princess Diaries 1 and 2.

    I'd also like to add:

    Fast Times At Ridgemont High
Blue Lagoon (I consider it a teen coming-of-age movie)
    The Outsiders
    Footloose
    Lucas
    Can't Buy Me Love
    The Goonies

I think just one - Some Kind of Wonderful with Eric Stolz and Mary Stuart Masterson. I cry at the end.
