Roseanne
Does anyone love this show? I'm starting to watch it and I really like it now! I used to "not get it" because I was young and hadn't really worked a crummy job yet...but a lot of the stuff is so true!
I also didn't realize Roseanne wasn't Rosie O'Donnell

Re: Roseanne
I love Roseanne. It realistically portrays a typical family trying to deal with everyday life situations. Darlene and Jackie are my favorite characters. They just made you laugh.

Re: Roseanne
My favourite episode is when the new manager comes in to the plastic factory where Roseanne works and raises the quota...I wish she had gotten back at him more though, or if the entire plant had quit.

Re: Roseanne
Yeah, but if she'd have gotten back at him it wouldn't have been realistic. I used to watch the show when I could. Good look at life working crummy jobs for sure, but I didn't like it as much once they started shifting her out of the factory into different other ventures like the restaurant and Dan's motorcycle shop.

Re: Roseanne
I loved Roseanne!
The older episodes were a lot better than the newer ones. I really liked that they never had money, their house was ratty and messy, and occasionally they had to struggle to get by. It was something the average joe could identify with.

Re: Roseanne
I watch Roseanne almost every night on Nick at Nite. It's HILARIOUS. Makes me laugh every single time. I too didn't appreciate it when it was on.
Fav episode: Roseanne finds pot that she thinks belongs to Darlene, when in reality it was actually hers from years ago that she forgot about. She, Dan and Jackie smoke it and the stoned scenes are the funniest thing ever.

Re: Roseanne
Like everybody else I loved the older episodes; it wasn't as good once Roseanne started wearing a ton of make-up and Dan acted scared of her. It wasn't like that in the first few seasons.
Favorite episodes are their Halloween specials. Hilarious!

Re: Roseanne
Roseanne is one of my all time favorite shows. Since you've just started watching it, I won't give the ending away where the few weird seasons in between are explained. One great ensemble show. Jackie was a hoot as was Darlene. I never liked the oldest daughter, except when she was temporarily replaced, but I guess she was good at portraying the obnoxious teenager.
And Bev, whose voice just totally grates on your nerves
You probably already noticed the very young George Clooney in the factory?

Re: Roseanne
Wow, talk about blast from the past! I watched Roseanne religiously during my junior-high and high-school years. Brings back good memories. Of course I still watched shows like Saved by the Bell, Fresh Prince, etc. They were just too "fake." I know it's silly to think one can receive too much realism from television, but Roseanne delivered just that.

Re: Roseanne
LOVE Roseanne!! one my fave all time shows... i just started buying the dvds & i swear i crack up at every episode. she is REALLY funny.
i loved the fact that they made jokes about Becky being replaced... either in the intro, where the old Becky Morphed into the new Becky or how they'd make cracks like "Becky, you look different" no other show did stuff like that.

Re: Roseanne
^^YES!!
'What you want DJ? Did you ever notice how funny DJ sounds? DEEEE JAAAYYY...DEEEE JAAAAYY.'
And Jackie's in the bathtub w/a toothbrush (or something). And they get all paranoid.
Oh man, I'm laughing just thinking about it. That was great!
