    Default "Olive Kitteridge" on HBO

Any fans of the book looking forward to this HBO mini-series tonight and tomorrow? Liked the book and am a huge fan of Frances McDormand.

I love Frances! Ill have to check this out. I've never read the short stories though, are they all together in one book?

czb, thought it faster-moving than the book, and Frances McDormand is perfect as Olive. Gives her also a little more "like ability" than how she comes across on the page, but still is perfect.

Greys, they are, and the book has the same title -- Elizabeth Strout is the author; Olive is the character that appears in each, sometimes prominently and sometimes peripherally.

    ^^^ thanks for the info.

i thought the book was well-written, but the plot did not grab me so i did not stick with it. to me, olive was more drab than unlikeable. i can see frances spicing her up a bit.

I watched it cause Frances was in it. At first, it did seem pretty boring but then Olive kinda reeled me in and I wanted to see what happened next. I thought the part where the girl fell, or jumped, into the water was interesting.

I liked when Olive stole a shoe and an earring from her daughter in law.
