Well, he does have a reputation for being a violent and controlling asshole. I think this shitfest would be the kiss of death to any actor's career.

Ditto. I don't know why any actor with a semblance of a career would do it.

They kept batting around Emma Watson for the female lead. She apparently had the same thought.

Emma Watson on Fifty Shades of Grey Casting: No, Not Me!

    Not gonna happen.

This is the pushback from Emma Watson, who has taken to Twitter to refute rumors that flamed up over this past weekend that she has been cast as the gorgeous but corruptible Anastasia Steele in the film adaptation of E L James's Fifty Shades of Gray.

"Who here actually thinks I would do 50 Shades of Gray as a movie? Like really. For real. In real life," Tweeted Watson of the erotic role.

The online hacking group Anonymous is reportedly to blame for fanning the erroneous casting news. It published online documents that said came from the internal server of the German Constantin Film studio, suggesting that Watson, 22, was up for the sexy role as lover to the fictional billionaire Christian Grey.

Even the book's author took to Twitter to shoot down the stories. "There have been no casting decisions made about Fifty Shades," Tweeted James.

Watson, who had been previously mentioned as a possible contender for the role, told EW.com last July that it was not on her plate. "I haven't read the book, I haven't read a script, nothing," she said.

Gus van Sant???? NOOOOOOOOO!!!! He shouldn't touch this piece of literary refuse with a ten foot pole. Why would he do this?!

And really, Jennifer Lawrence or Emma Watson? Good luck with that.

I very much doubt Jennifer will want to be involved in this mess and Emma posted on twitter she's not involved at all LOL CDAN posted a BI earlier this week that screamed that this was Pettyfer who is dying for the role.

Pettyfer is/looks far too young. I haven't even read the book, but this guy doesn't scream 'hot executive' to me. Maybe he's just hoping for the whole Robert Pattinson thing.

I can't stop laughing about this, although he's too young (I think he's supposed to be maybe in his 30s or something?) it's pretty much perfect. Pettyfer is such a douchebag. I'm pretty upset about Gus van Sant too, how could somebody make Milk and 50 Shades? Blech.

There's no way Jennifer Lawrence, or anyone of her caliber, will want to be involved in this. It'll be someone like Ashley Benson or Vanessa Hudgens; a C list former tweener with a "Look at me! Look at MEEEE! I'm so sexy and risque!!!" attitude. Maybe even Selena Gomez. She's been trying embarrassingly hard to look sexy and grown up lately.

I haven't read the books. Who do you all think should play the male and female leads, and what ages should they be?

Jade, save a good 200 brain cells and stay away from this crap. I've never wanted to punch an author in the face before reading these books. If they make a movie out of this fan-fiction, I hope it's straight to video with two D listers.

I really wish they wouldn't make it, mostly because I don't understand how it's not going to be a porno. Christian's supposed to be in his thirties maybe, and Ana her early twenties I think. There was talk of casting James Deen, he'd probably have been quite a good choice. If only they could pick Kristen Stewart for Ana, it'd be funny to see her getting smacked in the face with a big angry willy.
