Default Michael York - shocking, devastating, appearance

Wow, I was just surfing the net for something else when I came across recent pictures of Michael York. OMG, I'd never have recognized him! He must be ill. He's 70 years old now and, although never classically handsome, he had such an attractive, interesting face and a beautiful speaking voice. These photos make me sad.

Cancer maybe, since most of his hair is gone?

OMG. I would have never known it was him, either. He does look ill or something. Poor guy.

I didn't know what he had, but you can see it. Not just that he looks bad, but that he's had or has cancer. But he's smiling.

Fuck, that's horrible! I've always loved him!

Also, read this as Thom Yorke and was really shocked even worse.

Thanks for that-I knew it had to be something like cancer. That kind of change/aging is just not natural-did not follow his natural aging sequence. Very sad. Studied this cancer last trimester. Not good at all.

That's what my mom died of. From my experience, it's pretty difficult to diagnose, and it can take hold of you very strongly before you realize what's happening. In my mom's case, her rheumatologist, oncologist, and even orthopedist didn't spot it within about 6 months of being diagnosed. They just kept saying she was slowing down and experiencing advanced arthritis. By the time they figured out what she actually had, it had progressed so much that one of her bones had broken. And she died of it within two weeks of that.

The other thing is that it appears to me more common in the elderly, and in people who had previous radiation treatments.

Like everyone else, I would never have recognized Michael York in a million years from these photos. As someone who grew up in the 70's, it seems like Michael York was in just about everything -- including one of my favorite sci-fi movies, "Logan's Run".

So sorry about your loss, MohandasKGanja, and that her diagnosis came so late and her passing so soon after that.
I've checked Michael York's photos and I think his looks began to change significantly around 2010, but at first he was still recognizable. So very sad. It's also the same type of cancer that killed Peter Boyle, but his looks didn't change that dramatically, except for weight loss.

So sorry Mo. I had a friend's husband to die of this and he really suffered.

I hope Mr. York won't suffer that much.
