I did too! I stopped in the middle. lol. I know the uk skins kids aren't winning any Oscars anytime soon but the skill level was way different between the two. It also kind of bugged me that the girls were sooo skinny. I liked that in the uk series the girls looked real.

The only thing the US version was good for was reminding how much I loved the UK version. It just made me want to watch the UK pilot.

Princess-I agree about the UK girls, especially the ones from this last group. I commented on Twitter about how they all had real bodies, all were really cute with great shapes, but not the twigs we get on american TV.

'Skins' -- Parents Org. Wants Kiddy Porn Investigation

16 minutes ago by TMZ Staff

The sex-obsessed, drug-heavy MTV show "Skins" is under fire from a very powerful parents org. that's now calling for a federal investigation into potential child pornography violations ... TMZ has learned.

The Parents Television Council has fired off a letter to the U.S Department of Justice AND the U.S. Senate and House Judiciary Committees ... over concerns the show uses underage actors in graphic sexual situations.

The organization explains, "In addition to the sexual content on the show involving cast members as young as 15, PTC counted 42 depictions and references to drugs and alcohol in the premiere episode."

The group adds, "It is clear that Viacom has knowingly produced material that may well be in violation of [several anti-child pornography laws].

Earlier this week, the New York Times reported that MTV execs have already met to discuss the issue.

So far, no comment from MTV.

I haven't watched yet, but that first trailer with everyone moving in slow mo and reverse did intrigue me (especially the music)... I usually like all things MTV so I'll probably check it out.

Taco Bell Pulls Ads from 'Skins' -- Too Spicy

1/20/2011 12:45 PM PST by TMZ Staff

Taco Bell wants nothing to do with MTV's risque new teen show "Skins" -- and have pulled their ads from the program after a parental group expressed concern about potential child porn violations.

A rep for TB tells The Hollywood Reporter, "Upon further review, we’ve decided that the show is not a fit for our brand and have moved our advertising to other MTV programming."

As we first reported, the Parents Television Council fired off a letter to the U.S Department of Justice AND the U.S. Senate and House Judiciary Committees -- over concerns the show uses underage actors in graphic sexual situations ... possibly violating anti-child porn laws.

I miss the UK Skins, although it sort of jumped the shark in season 4. I really can't imagine a US version, just seems odd. I might have to check it out online!

I caught this and liked it.

People complaining about the sex -- they are teenagers and this is how it goes down unless folks want to act like no teen after gete their scrump/drug on. Yeah it's over the top but it's MTV and TEENS. What do they expect? I will watch it again.

I haven't seen the original UK version but that's in my queue.

I watched maybe ten minutes of it and honestly, it just seemed so fucking stupid. I know TV dramas are all about escapism and voyeurism and... drama, but ffs- this was epically dumb. Even for a relatable fantasy, it has no bearings. Skins UK was, idk, grittier and nastier but the kids were vulnerable and you could believe them and their actions. The US Skins kids just look slick and retarded.
Baby, by the time you have kids and they're in school, no one will care about you.

I watched it, and I didn't care that much for it. It's a little much for me. I'm still going to watch it to see how it goes, though.

    MTV shows suck.

Backlash Continues For MTV's 'Skins' As Advertisers Pull Their Support

Backlash Continues For MTV's 'Skins' As Advertisers Pull Their Support - omg! news on Yahoo!

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- The backlash against MTV's shockingly provocative TV show "Skins" continued on Friday as chewing gum giant Wrigley yanked their ads from the controversial series.

"Wrigley has decided to suspend any advertising during MTV's 'Skins' as it is never our intent to endorse content that could offend our consumers," a rep for Wrigley told Access Hollywood on Friday evening. "Any ads that previously aired during the show were part of a broader advertising plan with the network."

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, MTV said "Skins" - based on the acclaimed British series of the same name -- is a show "that addresses real-world issues confronting teens in a frank way.

"We review all of our shows and work with all of our producers on an ongoing basis to ensure our shows comply with laws and community standards," the network said in a statement released to the Associated Press on Friday. "We are confident that the episodes of 'Skins' will not only comply with all applicable legal requirements, but also with our responsibilities to our viewers."
