Default Charlie Sheen Leaving Two and a Half Men

Sources: Charlie Sheen Leaving Two and a Half Men

    April 1, 2010

    Charlie Sheen wants out.

After seven seasons, CBS’s hit sitcom Two and a Half Men will be down one man after the April 9 taping, sources tell PEOPLE. The reason? “Charlie’s just done,” says a set source. “And he’s quietly telling his friends he’s not coming back.”
Although sources say the network hoped the star would sign a new contract for an eighth season, Sheen recently turned down the offer. “He wants to move on,” says a friend of the actor, whose contract is fulfilled after he tapes this season’s 22nd episode. “Leaving is 100 percent his idea.”
Sheen rep Stan Rosenfield would only say: “Charlie’s deal is only through this current season.”
Sheen, who faces domestic violence charges stemming from a Christmas Day fight with wife Brooke Mueller, entered rehab on Feb. 24 as “a preventative measure” and has been returning to rehab after work each night.
A CBS spokesperson says the network doesn’t comment on contract issues. But a source close to the show says “negotiations are ongoing and nothing has been determined.” –Elizabeth Leonard

Sheen and Warner Bros. Will Make a Deal

Posted Apr 1st 2010 6:32PM by TMZ Staff
Sources directly connected to "Two and a Half Men" are laughing at reports that Charlie Sheen says he's done with the show.

Although the show has been sold to CBS for two more seasons, Charlie's deal is up and the parties are far apart, but that's nothing new ... it's happened with Charlie before.

We're told Charlie is currently making $825,000 an episode, and he's asking for $1.5 million. We're told the Warner Bros. offer is around $1 million an episode.

Warner Bros.will make a fortune if the show continues, because any fresh episodes will automatically become part of the syndication deal. Charlie would also make a fortune.

As one person put it, "This deal will be made at midnight on the day CBS announces its new fall schedule [May 19]. Everyone plays the brinksmanship game."

And there's this ... it's not going to be particularly easy for Charlie to get a new show, given he's in rehab and facing a possible jail sentence.

And one well-connected source snarkily said, "Does anyone really think Charlie will walk away from $48

it's ridiculous how much money he gets for one episode. he's basically playing himself, he's not even acting.

If it's true, the show will never make it.

You could say that about Jon Cryer too though. I watch Two and a Half Men as much for him as Charlie. Sometimes I like him even more. Some of Charlie's story lines are just piggish.

I dunno, the sophmoric, oooohh-sex-is-dirty snort-snort humor of this show irritates me. The writing is snappy, don't get me wrong and the comic timing of the stars is impressive. I do laugh from time to time, but these boy-men are just too silly for me. Mr. Landerq watches every damn repeat in syndication he can find, unfortunately.

My husband & I watch this show and love it. Charlie Sheen is an asshole, but a funny one! It's one of the few shows that I really laugh at.
