Looks like "Lost's" Daniel Dae Kim will be staying in Hawaii.

Kim has been tapped for a role in the CBS reboot of "Hawaii Five-O," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The "Lostie" will play Detective Chin Ho Kelly, who was originally played by Kam Fong.

    Alex O'Loughlin

Though no names have been announced for the part of Detective Steve McGarrett (originally played by Jack Lord), "Moonlight" heartthrob Alex O'Loughlin is said to be in talks for the role.

Hawaii Five-O (2.0) comes from "Fringe" co-creators Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci and "CSI: NY" executive producer/co-showrunner Peter Lenkov.

The original series, which revolved around a fictional Hawaii state police department, ran from 1968 to 1980.

Hollywood must be running out of ideas. As much as I would like to see an Asian face like mine on tv, I bet you it's a stereotypical role.

Doesn't sound like something I'd watch. Pity, because he's HOT!

Yay. Another cheesy TV show being turned into a needless movie.

Mmmm... I loves me some DDK, going back to when he was on Angel. The only thing notable about 5-0 was the theme song - everyone remembers that one!

i looove Daniel Dae Kim. But if they cast the other guy i probably won't watch it. He's got the ick factor for me.

I love the theme song too. And I thought Jack Lord was sexy and I enjoyed the setting in Hawaii. But beyond that, I agree, the show was quite unremarkable.

One thing I love about watching old shows is seeing guest stints from actors before they really became famous. I remember one episode with Christopher Walken for instance.

I don't know the guy they are considering casting as Steve McGarrett, but I am glad it isn't Ben Affleck like they talked about before. That guy's got NO charisma.

I never watched the show...but good for him. Hope it works. Most remakes of old shows, that have premiered over the last few years have flopped.

    Think Bionic Woman etc...

Now that would make so much more sense.
