Default Designer Vera Wang considering doing Dancing With The Stars

Vera Wang confirms she's considering going 'Dancing with the Stars'
By Reality TV World staff, 06/16/2009

Fashion designer Vera Wang has acknowledged rumors that she's considering competing on Dancing with the Stars are accurate but says she isn't sure whether it's actually going to happen.

"I don't know yet," Wang told People before adding that she hasn't signed a contract with the show yet.

"They talked to me [and] they talked to a lot of other people," Wang said. "I was very flattered."

Wang also said she still hasn't made a final decision about whether she wants to compete on the ballroom dancing competition.

"Part of me does want to do it [and] part of me doesn't," she told People, citing a pair of fashion shows she has scheduled for September and October as some of the reasons she may not want to compete on this fall's ninth Dancing with the Stars edition.

"I'm not spectacular. I'm not a ballroom dancer -- I'm free form," the designer told People about her dancing skills.

Dancing with the Stars' ninth season is scheduled to premiere on Monday, September 21 at 8PM ET/PT. ABC isn't expected to formally announce the season's cast until August.

I just don't get the appeal of this show. I tried to watch it when Apollo Ono was on there b/c I think he's adorable, but I just couldn't take it. Even Apollo couldn't reel me in!

OMG, Wang dances "freeform"? Please, oh, please, bring her pretentious little freeform body onto DWTS. That could be the best!

I thought they meant she was going to design the costumes. She seems way too rigid to be a dancer.

She's a well sought after designer. DWTS is like 5 steps beneath her imo.

^^ Eh, she's designing disposable clothing for Kohls. It's not that big of a step down for her.

^I didn't know that. I only knew her wedding dresses are so coveted and treated like the second coming of Jesus.

A lot of designers do, you're right. It still takes away from their brand name IMO. I've tried on some of the stuff and it's cheap, disposable clothing. There's no structure, the fabrics are crappy, and most of the stuff is trendy rather than classic.

I feel the same way about all the Armani Exchanges that they are putting next to the Starbucks stand in the Safeway's out here......

So true! I was so excited when I had first heard/read she was doing a line for Kohls, but I've never found anything that I would buy. And her shoe line there is the worst! Really matronly looking shoes.
    It's all a huge disappointment.
