    Default Southland

Its a new series from the producer of ER. The previews make it look amazing. It reminds me a bit of Homicide: Life on the Streets, which I adored.

Premiers in half an hour on NBC if anyone wants to watch!

    Here are a few previews:

I thought the show was excellent! But at a few points, it was pretty damn graphic. I don't know if I"ll be able to stick with it if they keep up with the graphic scenes. At one point, a man had been attacked and killed by his dogs and it was very graphic. I left the room at that point so I don't know the rest of it.

Otherwise it was a great show. It was good enough to check out next week.

I can't believe I missed it! I really wanted to check it out, it looks really good. Does anyone know if the pilot will re-air?
That one kid looks like a young Russell Crowe.

You're welcome. I LOVE that site. I caught up on all the Dollhouse episodes there.

Why yes, my brain is jelly, just like in the commercials.

Great show! It is pretty graphic at points. Sometimes it seemed like a documentary, for instance, with language being bleeped out. I think the guy who plays Ben is a cutie.

You can watch full episodes on NBC.com also, for those of you who missed it and wanna see it.

Anyone else watching Southland right now? Police officers can't really divorce people in CA can they??? Surely that was all for theatrics... maybe they'll explain it when the show comes back from commercial.

I watched it last night on tivo. No, they cannot divorce people. He just did that because he was sick & tired of always going there for domestic disputes, at least that's what I thought. He gave them a "ceremony" of sorts, to make it "official" in the eyes of the couple, hoping one would move out and the bullshit would stop. Of course, it didn't stop......

    Anyone still watching?

I'm glad that they're turning it much more into an ensemble drama each week. It has a really fantastic cast so I'm happy they aren't just focusing on the kid from the OC's story.

I've watched all 4 episodes. I really like it. I love Regina King's character and how she totally verbally bitch-slapped that PR lady. Totally my kind of girl.

I even like Ben McKenzie's poor little Beverly Hills boy storyline, some might say it's predictable but it's drawing me in. He's doing a good job so far, I think. And the cop's wife with the dog is kind of cracking me up. He's a retired K-9 or drug dog, right? It's funny how instead of a band-aid baby, it's a band-aid dog who tears things up and the dolt-ish wife has no idea how to deal with him.
