I may be biased...but I think lack of Rafa has hurt Wimbledon. It's all been very predictable, the only excitement being provided by Murray (but again I could be a bit biased there...). It's basically a foregone conclusion Federer will win, and there was only ever going to be a William's sister ladies final, the women's game just doesn't have the depth just now.

I thought it would be odd without Nadal, and the first week was a bit dull but the second week has been good. There have been some good match ups. Hewitt/Roddick, Murray/Wawrinka, Roddick/Murray, Serena/Elena, etc..
It was predictable that Federer would be in the final but this year it wasn't totally predictable as to who he would face.

I am also missing Nadal. Wimbledon has been a bit boring for me although it's good to see Roddick work hard and make the finals.

IMO the women' game has a lot of pretenders - eg Safina, Ana, Jelena Jankovic - when it comes to Grand Slams they go missing.
Ana hasn't done anything great this year.

Not too predictable I agree, but as soon as I saw Roddick in that part of the draw, and with the way he'd been playing, I knew he was a strong contender. To be honest, I'd picked Djokovic to face Roger.

Agreed. They all seem to choke, especially Safina. To me, Ivanovic is a bit like Kournikova - she has the looks and the body, but isn't so interested in the tennis, more the PR side of it.

So, did the Williams sisters already play their final? On my DISH this morning, the guide said 'Women's final', but they were showing a men's doubles game...

Serena won the singles, and both of them won the doubles.

IMO if the Williams sister werent around women's game would be dead.
They , at least, bring some interest to the game and seem like fun.

^^I agree. None of the other women are even close to the level of Venus and Serena.

I've been watching women's Tennis, since I was a little girl. When I was younger, my favorite players were Graf, and Navratilova. I agree that the William's sisters make it exciting now..

Go Roddick!! I'm watching now and Roddick just won the first set.
Ok - I can't watch any more. All three sets so far have been tie breakers with Roddick losing the last two. Grrrr.

I like Federer but I am tired of seeing the same few people win over and over again. I wanted Andy to win just for some variety.
