When did we get rid of the amateur rule anyway? It seems like every sport has its own rules anyway.
In the 1970s amateurism requirements were dropped from the Olympic Charter, leaving decisions on professional participation to the international federation for each sport. This switch was perhaps best exemplified by the American Dream Team, composed of well-paid NBA stars, which won the Olympic gold medal in basketball in 1992.
I've never liked lesbianism - it leaves a bad taste in my mouth

Just because you're offended doesn't mean you're right.
The IOC wants the big baseball stars to come over and play, that way it will be a big moneymaker, like basketball is. But do you think the Yankees would let and ARod and team take 2 weeks off to go to the Olympics when there's a pennant race going? Not likely.
And also, the USA completely dominates baseball and softball, so the only way the IOC will keep baseball if they can turn it into a moneymaker.
I think they need a 'Guitar Hero' competition
I'm not quite drunk enough to really care, but is this her violation of her violation of her violation of her violation of probation or her violation of her violation of her violation of her probation????? ~MontanaMama on LL's latest arrest.
winter get rid of the broom and rock thing.. it's stupid and boring.
summer - if you get rid of womans softball then get rid of mens baseball.
get rid of Badminton, ping pong, and trampoline. Twin diving, team rhythmic gymnastics, synchronized twin swimming.
viewing - I don't need to see every blasted heat, I'd rather see more of the olympic events. If the home team wins a medal I'd like to see it - ie shooting and taekwando.
I like the horse events. AND we are finally doing well whohoo Beezie Madden!!!!
Removed: Trampoline, Field Hockey, Soccer, Synchronized Swimming, Ping pong and especially Walking.
When you came in the air went out. And every shadow filled up with doubt. I don't know who you think you are, But before the night is through,I wanna do bad things with you.
NO! Dont take out walking! What else am I going to laugh at?
Personally I'd like to see anyone with the name Fabricio removed from the games.. how many darn Fabricio's can there be in the world? Italy, Brazil, Spain - geez
If I only got to choose one it would be badminton - they have to many cocks in the game already.
I love Tennis but it's just not right for the Olympics. I find swimming really really boring so I wouldn't miss that. I don't think I'd add any sports.
Water Polo, table tennis, ping-pong and volleyball all need to go.
