I had to watch my man Phelps last night. I nearly cried I was so happy for him.

The woman's gymnastics has been so great to watch too. Simone Biles blows my mind. I'm like she is so perfect is she a robot? I've never seen anything like it.
I am going to come and burn the fucking house down... but you will blow me first."

he sounds like a guy who has not been around many comps with women. I've seen bloodshed during the girls comps in the color wars in our day camp. Plus, just look at the women volleyballers this year, do they look like they don't care about competition? These women are fierce. Idiots.

When I saw Giselle walking to the tune of the Girl from Ipanema, my first thought was that she is definitely not what comes to mind as the girl; second thought was, damn, that's a long ass walk!

Congrats to this guy for beating Michael Phelps. Not many people can say that. Plus, this is apparently Singapore's first gold medal in the Olympics! Congrats to Singapore!

I missed seeing Ledecky win her 800 freestyle race by 11 freaking seconds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am waiting for it to come on demand - hasn't popped in yet. Can't seem to find a good video on-line either, sooner or later they will pop in.

And more pics of that hot French swimmer...just because!!!

I cannot get over the nasty green water in the diving pool. It's gotten less green in the events I saw today but a couple of days ago was just wretched, those poor divers.

I can't believe how Rio is showing its ass, from the poo-and-cadaver infested rivers, the shoddy/incomplete and unsafe construction in the Olympic Village, and the robbing at gunpoint of Lochte and his crew. I'd be embarrassed if it were my city, and it doesn't engender confidence in visiting either.

I don't want to pile on Brazil, but it does make me wonder what the selection committee's evaluation criteria is.
