If you didn't know he was leaving Cleveland, then you were a fool(Burning jerseys, really?). And if you watched an once of sports news you knew he was going to Miami. All the Drama by James wasn't needed!!

However, you cannot be mad at him for leaving:

    Dear Cleveland, All Of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Cavaliers Supporters Wherever You May Be Tonight;

As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier.

This was announced with a several day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his "decision" unlike anything ever "witnessed" in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment.

Clearly, this is bitterly disappointing to all of us.

The good news is that the ownership team and the rest of the hard-working, loyal, and driven staff over here at your hometown Cavaliers have not betrayed you nor NEVER will betray you.

There is so much more to tell you about the events of the recent past and our more than exciting future. Over the next several days and weeks, we will be communicating much of that to you.

You simply don't deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.

You have given so much and deserve so much more.

In the meantime, I want to make one statement to you tonight:

"I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER ‘KING’ WINS ONE"

You can take it to the bank.

If you thought we were motivated before tonight to bring the hardware to Cleveland, I can tell you that this shameful display of selfishness and betrayal by one of our very own has shifted our "motivation" to previously unknown and previously never experienced levels.

Some people think they should go to heaven but NOT have to die to get there.

Sorry, but that's simply not how it works.

This shocking act of disloyalty from our home grown "chosen one" sends the exact opposite lesson of what we would want our children to learn. And "who" we would want them to grow-up to become.

But the good news is that this heartless and callous action can only serve as the antidote to the so-called "curse" on Cleveland, Ohio.

The self-declared former "King" will be taking the "curse" with him down south. And until he does "right" by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma.

    Just watch.

    Sleep well, Cleveland.

Tomorrow is a new and much brighter day....

I PROMISE you that our energy, focus, capital, knowledge and experience will be directed at one thing and one thing only:

DELIVERING YOU the championship you have long deserved and is long overdue....

^^ The owner acts as if Lebron pulled a Brett Favre and announced a fake retirement and then screwed the team over by playing for someone else. Lebron was a free agent, which means he could go anywhere he wanted.

And if the Cavs were so concerned about keeping Lebron they should've given him the team to help win a title. They expected him to do it all by himself, so they can't be mad that he left.

I was really hoping he would stay in Cleveland, but can't blame the guy for leaving. The whole thing was completely over the top and ridiculous though....a circus.

King, how does a team that won over 60 games in back to back season NOT have the personnel to win? The reason they didn't win is 1) Mike Brown became even more of a spectator during the playoffs than he was during the season, he was completely incapable of having the right players on the court at the right time. (this was 2008/2009 & 2009/2010). 2. If you watched the Boston/Cleveland series, LeBron quit. He flat out quit in Game 5 and although he had a trip-doub in Game 6, his 9 turnovers were the difference. Gilbert has willingly paid the luxury tax for years to bring whoever he could into Cleveland. As a life long Cleveland sports fan, I can say what we all really mean is it just isn't fucking fair. There really is no city that supports its sports teams as much as Cleveland, with nothing to show for it in 46+ years. Miami is just about the worst sports city in the country. So frankly, we have sour grapes, yup we do and it's ok that we do.

I agree. The owner's comments come across as childish and bratty.

On the news this morning I heard this and laughed:

DC Attorney Leicester Bryce Stovell Claims He Is LeBron James' Father

Stovell has filed a lawsuit for $4 million

    WASHINGTON -
55-year-old Leicester Bryce Stovell has filed a lawsuit seeking to prove that he is the father of NBA star LeBron James.
Stovell says he is serious. He is a D.C. attorney who graduated from Princeton and worked for the Securities and Exchange Commission.
He claims he met Jamesí mother, Gloria, at a D.C. bar (DC Space) in March of 1984. He says they had unprotected sex during a one-night stand, and Gloria went back home to Ohio.
She returned three months later. Stovell says they bumped into each other at the same bar. They returned to his apartment, where she informed him she was pregnant.
Stovell says Gloria James did not tell him he was the father, but when she left, he told her, "If it's a boy, make sure he plays basketball."
Stovell says he himself played basketball at Cleveland Heights High School in suburban Cleveland, Ohio and was a standout player.
He says he was never allowed to be a father to LeBron, and that a paternity test several years ago found zero probability that he was the father. Stovell says that test was tampered with. He wants a new one under controlled conditions.
Stovell is suing both LeBron James and his mother for $4 million in damages. The basketball star and his mother are represented by the law firm Squire, Sanders and Dempsey, which had no comment on the lawsuit.

Maybe so, but with that one act (which LeBron didn't even have the cajones to call Gilbert beforehand), Gilbert's asset depreciated by more than $100 million dollars. I think he more than has the right to speak his mind and vent his emotions.

    ^^That lawsuit is just ridiculous.

Montana, that personnel didn't help Lebron win a title and that's why he's gone. And time and time again, Lebron was the one carrying the bulk of the weight in the playoff games, and the rest of the personnel didn't do much. So, it doesn't matter how many wins you have in back-to-back seasons if you can't cap it off with a title. And be it the NBA, NFL, MLB, etc winning a title is the most important thing for players and teams.
