They cut out quite a bit from the opening ceremony too.

I know they cut Kate Bush's segment. I kind of scanned through it on Gawker's site, though, and I couldn't spot Kate in the segment -- just a bunch of people building things with giant white cubes.

people keep raving about the closing ceremony and performances and granted, i didn't watch the whole thing but what i did see was ridiculously bad, including the spice girls. and russell brand's performance was ludicrous, and not in a good way.
the bt london live closing ceremony gig across town sounds like it was a lot better - new order, blur, the specials...

She didn't perform, she just did a remix recording of Running Up That Hill for the ceremony.

I've read that she is quite shy and I think it's been a hell of a lot of years since she did anything other than the odd show here and there so I'm not really surprised.

^ yes, she has chronic stagefright, and a few other things that make performances a rare thing.

    i do love her though.

I'm amazed none of the Catholic countries complained about the nuns on rollerskates and a few of them showing their panties.

With the 2012 London Olympics in full-swing, experts in the United Kingdom are warning vacationers to avoid getting bogus merchandise. There have been hundreds of arrests already for criminals trying to import or sell the knock-off products. While bogus sporting souvenirs are nothing new, the Olympics are sure to cause a spike in such activity this summer.
