I have decided it makes no difference if I know who wins or not. I get just as nervous and sit on the edge of my seat like the result might suddenly change!
So from now on I will just find out ahead and enjoy the show.

That just looks wrong, especially on a short guy like that.

Looking good in his element but I must point out that the man is a shrimp:

I'm sorry, you don't get thighs like that without some serious pharma assistance even though we all know that cycling is a totally clean sport.

Wow I have 8 channels on pay TV that run 24 hours and show every medal live and 2 free to air channels that show highlights in prime time. And they'll broadcast the events live here on free to air because most finals are in the middle of the night our time and any Aussies who love sport are used to staying up late/getting up early to watch some sporting event or another.

I stayed awake and watched the entire NBC primtime coverage last night. On the one hand since they showed all the events I am interested I was generally fine with the broadcast. On the other hand you would think that the USA and Russian teams were the only gymnasts competing.

The only Romanian I saw was the awesome beam routine. She was so good - a true throwback to the level of performance I wish all gymnasts had. I know tricks are harder now, and the scoring changes have affected each discipline, but her execution and connecting moves were flawless. I assume we will see her again in the individual apparatus competition -looking forward to that.

I love the russian diva attitudes. It would not be gymnastics without it.

^you're lucky. I was so sleepy and couldn't stay awake to watch it all. Too many friggin commercials! I don't like them showing gymnastics so late. I like the diva Russians too.

Did anyone see the mess that's badminton right now? Four of the doubles teams got disqualified for acting unsportsmanlike.

^^What's up with the sparkle overload on the Russian girls? I kept feeling like it would interfere with their vision somehow, and then to top it off, all that other glitter on their hair!

I'm so glad they got disqualified, they were trying to throw the matches.

They did show Romania on the high bars and she screwed it up badly. They then showed how perfect she could be on the beam.
They had to zero in on the top ones I think because of time & all the swimming excitement, just a lot to get in.
I loved the US outfits, all red & sparkly.
I REALLY want one of the British girls to win a medal, but don't know if they qualify.
I LOVE the British crowd's reaction when a Brit is on and I want them to get more medals! Maybe this bike race this morning?

I think all of us are cheering them on. I love the crowds.
Several American swimmers have commented on how much they love the pool there.
The Brits have gone all out & it shows.

Did anyone else find it hard to root for the American gymnast who had his own Wubie in the form of a towel? FFS
