Yep, here is a link to the article. I guess they will do it over Thanksgiving break.

It makes sense though. As a kid in college, it's hard to understand your "idols" can and do make mistakes. Some of them huge ones. I also get the crowd of PSU students gathering in the days after this happened. Like sluce said, I'm sure some just wanted to be in a place where history was being made (forget how it's viewed by others).

I work at a University. As entrenched as I am in the cult of college football, I would be livid if our coaches were accused of these things. Initially, my anger would be a reaction over the victims. As time passes, I would probably be angry it would have a reflection on my education and career. The PSU alumni and current faculty/staff have worked hard for their successes. Imagine one guy casting a shadow over that for you.

The resistance to investigating what Paterno knew and when did he know it is coming from the older generation of alumni that just want the story to go away.
As someone who is "older" I will disagree with you. I know many PSU grads since I live in PA. I don't know even one who is their late 30s and up, who supported Paterno staying. The younger ones are the only ones I heard saying he did nothing wrong. Those with children are the fastest to say Paterno failed these kids. The older ones also know that the quality of education they received is not in question.

I could never be an attorney if it meant representing people like Sandusky! He could pull any man who fits the age and say he was the alleged to be a victim and that it never happened.

Celebrity Gossip | Entertainment News | Celebrity News | TMZ.com

Jerry Sandusky's lawyer says he thinks he found the boy who was allegedly raped in the shower that has become the flashpoint for the scandal, and the man -- now in his 20's -- is saying it never happened.

Joe Amendola told Ann Curry on "Today" ... prosecutors have never given him the names of the accusers, but he believes he's found the alleged victim, and if indeed it is him Mike McQueary is lying.

Amendola also concedes, "It is possible Jerry did this [molested kids]" and if he did he should be punished.

And Amendola echoes what Sandusky told Bob Costas last night ... it was bad judgment for him to shower with young boys, especially when there were complaints as early as 1998.

The New York Times is reporting ... around 10 additional alleged victims have now come forward.

What does he mean "he thinks he found the victim?" Sandusky didn't know the kids name?

I have a hard time believing someone would lie about witnessing abuse. But the victim may not want to come out and be labelled as a victim. If he hadn't told anyone before now, he may be too ashamed to let anyone know.

I remember a case (don't remember specifics but it involved Oprah) and there was a boy who was molested when he was around 10-ish. His mom found out and went on the warpath, got involved in all sorts of victims' rights walks and demonstrations, went and fought for better legislation, the whole nine yards. Anyway, the boy retreated and lied saying that it wasn't him after he was 'outed', as it were. He didn't want the attention and he ended up even resenting his mom for trying to help others.

I wouldn't be surprised if some of the boys fib after the fact that it wasn't them. Pretty soon the whole country will know who they are (if they're adults) and that's a pretty heavy load to carry.
Baby, by the time you have kids and they're in school, no one will care about you.

Well, couldn't the legal team "hire" any young man in his 20's now to say, "Yep, it was me in the shower with Jerry, and he never touched me." How in the hell would anyone now really know who the kid was, because it was never reported back then, names taken, ect.??

Mom of Alleged Penn State Victim: My Son Afraid Jerry Sandusky Will Go Free

One of former Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky's alleged victims broke down in tears after hearing him speak on Tuesday.

Sandusky, the central figure in the Penn State child sex abuse scandal, told NBC's Bob Costas in a televised phone interview Monday that he "horsed around" with youngsters. A boy identified as Victim 1 reacted emotionally upon hearing the claim, his mother told ABC's Good Morning America Wednesday.

Why the reaction? "He said, 'Because I'm afraid. I'm afraid he'll go free,' " recounted the mother, whose identity is being withheld. Assuring her son, "There's other witnesses, probably more victims out there to come forward yet," the mother urged others with information about the case to come forward and speak.

While several legal experts have subsequently suggested that Sandusky's interview with Costas, in which he acknowledged that he "touched [kids'] legs without intent of sexual contact," could potentially have further damaged his case, the alleged victim's mother told ABC: "It sickened me that he would be on TV trying to downplay his charges. And I think it made him look more guilty."

She also expressed anger that Sandusky termed the activity between himself and her son simple horseplay.

"It's not games," she said. "It's a planned-out strategy to groom children to molest. He definitely shouldn't have showered with those kids. It was sickening, I mean, I don't know anybody anybody who when somebody's, like, 50, would get in a shower naked with a 10-year-old."

Making the talk-show rounds himself, Sandusky's attorney, Joseph Amendola, steadfastly maintains his client's innocence. Of the alleged victim, he told ABC News: "The kid is ... now grown up, he's in his 20s. He's adamant that nothing sexual occurred."

On GMA Wednesday, the mother said that since the news of the allegations broke, she and her son have had to go into hiding to protect themselves.

"It makes me really mad that my son can't go out and have a normal life," she said. "[Sandusky] gets to go to the mall and shop and do whatever he wants to do. That aggravates me. He should be in jail."

Come trial, her son is expected to be the prosecution's star witness. "He wants [Sandusky] to go to jail and he wants him to pay for what he's done," she said. "And he doesn't want him on the streets where he can hurt somebody else."

Well at least Victim 1 is going to testify - a victory for the good guys in a situation where there are so few.

Victim 1 is the true brave one here. If it wasn't for him stepping forward, the case wouldn't have gone to the grand jury and none of this would have been exposed. I hope Victim 1 stays strong because Sandusky's sleazy legal team will try and throw everything at him.

As JadeStar70 said, they could "hire" any 20-something to say he was the kid in the shower and that Sandusky never touched him. No one except Sandusky knows the true identity of the kid who was victimized in the shower. The prosecution would have no way of verifying the true identity because no names were ever revealed.

I actually wouldn't put it past Amendola to do something like that - hire someone and persuade the person to say they were the shower victim and get him to testify that nothing happened.

Great read, too long to copy. Talks about how they found McQueary. I hate that the officials are trying to make him out to be a do-gooder who did the right thing. Yes, yes he did. Nine effing years later. Someone asked earlier if he preyed on young black boys. Turns out no. He chose white boys from homes with no fathers.

Southpark hit PSU really hard this week too. Lots of clips on Youtube.

what i think is interesting is that sandusky remembers what was happening in the shower (the kid turns on all of them, slides around, they are snapping towels, etc.) but can't remember who the kid was and they *think* they found him. my ass he doesn't know who that kid was.

Yeah, and it is gross because you can kind of extrapolate from that description how he fantasizes about young boys. It's almost like a porn movie in his head, but instead of sex between consenting adults it's child rape.
