If i were Gracie, I would be ready to spit. 2 falls wins over a mostly clean program. Bulldinky. But welcome to figure skating. My kid is a skater, so I spend 7 days a week with this.
About the quality of ladies' skating in the US? Right now, ice dance, a discipline which no one really cares about in America, is where we are the strongest.
I thought that the Code of Points allowed skaters to overcome bad SPs. God knows I've seen it enough, especially in the 04-05 season.
And notice how the commentators pretty much ignored Ashley, instead preferring to focus on silver medalist Gracie Gold?

Yeah, I thought it was a commentary on how weak the U.S. ladies' field is right now. I don't actively dislike Wagner, but I don't think she's going to be winning many international competitions with that free skate. I mean this is the first woman to win back-to-back championships since Kwan? I think everyone is ready to see this mediocre era come to an end.
I'm pleased Aaron and Miner beat Abbott. Abbott doesn't even have a cute personality or face to make me somewhat overlook his inconsistency either.

Had Wagner skated clean I would have been fine with it. Winning with two falls, doesn't feel right.
Rusalka, where are you?![]()

what a whiner poor sport Jeremy Abbott is. Didn't even manage to get up off his skinny ass to congratulate Max Aaron. Just sat there and pouted.
and i want to adopt Gracie Gold. She's a cutie.
All the best,

4CC championships this week. Predictions?
From reading reports on GoldenSkate forum, Hanyu did well, the US men finished 9th and 10th in the SP. This doesn't look good heading to Worlds, if the goal is to get three spots for Sochi.
What does it say when the US men can't even place in the top five in a lightly regarded comp like 4 CC? The only US guy to win this was Evan Lysacek. Not the most beautiful skater, but a hard worker. I swear, it's almost as if Team USA ENJOYS fucking up...
On GoldenSkate they were saying the best ones for worlds, should be a culmination of the entire season, not just the top finish at Nationals. I will wait for the free skate. Anything can happen.
I see only two spots for mens', ladies and pairs at Sochi...
The US women will get the three spots for Sochi IMO, along with Russia and Japan. The men and pairs are screwed, but why does that matter? I'd say it's more worrying that Davis/White are the only realistic US medal prospect for the next Olympics.
