Miki Ando won 2011 Worlds with Grieg. Totmianina and Marinin also had Peer Gynt for their short during one season. Edmunds, Liashenko and Tuktamysheva as well, but that's all I can remember ATM.

^^^I forgot about Miki - my memory is going LOL. Never was into that Russian ice dance team, so I didn't know that they had used it.

At U.S. Nationals so far, Polina is dominating the ladies with a 70.19. Gracie popped her opening lutz and is in 2nd with 62.50, Tyler Pierce is in 3rd with 62.45, and Ashley is in 4th with 62.41 after falling on the toe in her flip toe combination.

Meanwhile, Mirai apparently somehow sliced her boot open during her short program in a way that is irreparable. It was her back-up pair of skates, so she will reportedly be breaking in new skates tomorrow.

What a mess. At least it's decided the US spots for Worlds.

Yep, on NBC tomorrow from 3-6pm is the pairs long and free dance, and then tomorrow night from 8-11pm is the ladies long. Sunday from 4-6pm is the men's long. All those times are EST.

It's so strange how good the US is in dance now.

I blew off pairs and dance, but am waiting for the ladies' free skate.

The dance event was superb; a lot of really high-quality skates (topped off by the Shibs who will now hopefully do damage at Worlds).

Of the Shibutani's or Chock/Bates, who is the stronger pair? Or rather who would have a stronger chance at being on the podium?

I think the Shibutanis rightfully won and I think they've been the stronger American team for awhile. Chock and Bates have made some glaring errors that have been blatantly overlooked up until now.

I've still got my brows raised at the ladies result. I didn't expect Gracie to pull up and win after Polina crested 207 points.

I also love that Evan and Vera Wang attended the ladies free together. WTF.

It was a fun night of ladies skating. Loved it.
    Laurent and Brookie like this.

Meryl doesn't even try anymore. She just calls Lanvin and asks for curtains with a belt.~Bitter
Can we interest you in Leann Rimes? She has a nice little cadre of fans you'd probably enjoy.~ Pecan Pie

Loved watching Polina Edmonds skate (man, is that kid tall!), but Gracie Gold knocked it out of the park too.

It was a great night of US ladies skating I have to admit. The top five totally deserved to be there. I had a feeling it would be Gold, Edmunds and Wagner. I love Ashley's music, even if she did use it before.
