WWE's Eddie Guerrero dead at 38

This is crazy. That was only last year that he went public about his battle with drugs. They don't have any more info than this yet.

WWE is deeply saddened by the news that Eddie Guerrero has passed away. He was found dead this morning in his hotel room in Minneapolis. Eddie is survived by his wife Vickie and daughters Shaul, 14, Sherilyn, 9, and Kaylie Marie, 3.

Aw man that's really sad. I have'nt watched wrestling in a while, but he was a great sports entertainer and he will be greatly missed. RIP Eddie.

It really is sad. I didnt know him personally, but I've been reading some of the stories fans have posted about him on the wrestling sites and my eyes just tear up. At last night's Smackdown taping, he was supposed to become the Heavyweight champion again, and its seems so cruel that just as he was about to make it back to the top, this tragic event happened. I just cant grasp that he's gone.....

He was the guy that had the "fling" with Chyna on the show. He would come out to that "MamaCITA!" music. I stopped watching in 2001 but it really sucks that someone so young had to die.

On an aside note, relevant to wrestling, I met the Rock this Friday! God was he gorgeous.

No, that was Sean Waltman, aka Xpac. Eddie and Chyna only had a relationship on TV.

He was also known as Black Tiger II in ECW a long time ago, I believe, and he started the LWO in WCW. He was good friends with Chris Benoit (they were in the Radicalz together) and in the WWF one of his catch-phrases was "Latino Heat". Hopefully that rings a few bells for you....

But I dont believe it was an OD....he died brushing his teeth, and he's been clean for 4 years (4 years ago today, I believe, which makes it even sadder). Given that he did have drug and alcohol problems in the past it sounds to me like heart failure, similar to what happened to Brian Pillman and Road Warrior Hawk......but thats just my theory.
