    Default UT slaughters Baylor 62-0

    We kick ass.

WACO, Texas (AP) -- Receiver-turned-starting tailback Ramonce Taylor showed he can run the ball for No. 2 Texas. He can still catch it, too.

Taylor ran for 102 yards and three touchdowns and had a 42-yard catch from Vince Young for another score in the Longhorns' 16th straight victory, 62-0 at Baylor on Saturday. The sophomore was the third different starting tailback for Texas this season.

Young, the Heisman Trophy contender who is 26-2 as the Longhorns' starter, had 351 total yards in just more than three quarters -- 16-of-27 passing for 298 yards and two TDs, and 53 yards rushing on eight carries. Jamaal Charles ran for two scores for Texas (9-0, 6-0 Big 12).

The 16-game winning streak is the longest for the Longhorns since they won a school-record 30 in a row from 1968-70. Only No. 1 USC had a longer active streak, 30 in a row going into its game late Saturday night against Stanford.

Unlike a week ago, when Texas had to overcome a 28-9 deficit to win 47-28 at Oklahoma State, the Longhorns were in control from the outset and won on the road for the 13th straight time.

Baylor (4-5, 1-5) has lost eight straight in the series and been outscored 203-14 the last four games, three of those shutouts. The Bears were also shut out for the second straight game, coming off a 28-0 loss to No. 16 Texas Tech last week.

With Selvin Young sidelined by nagging injuries, Taylor got his first start at tailback, the position he played in high school and where he was in the spring for the Longhorns before being switched to receiver. Charles has also been banged up, but ran 13 times for 72 yards.

On Texas' first offensive snap after halftime, Young faked a handoff to Taylor and rolled to his right. The quarterback then stopped, avoided a defender and threw back to Taylor, who was running alone down the field.

As he neared the end zone, Taylor did a Superman-like dive, drawing a 15-yard penalty. But that didn't hurt the Longhorns, who led 34-0 at the time.

That was their sixth one-play scoring drive this season. Taylor had scoring runs of 3 and 11 yards after that, with a 55-yard TD pass from Young to Quan Cosby in between.

With Texas up 55-0 and already with 546 of their 645 total yards, Young and Taylor were finished. Little-used senior quarterback Matt Nordgren took over with 11:46 left, and scored on a 29-yard run on which he fumbled at the 15, but had the ball bounce back into his hands.

Terrance Parks got his second career start at quarterback for Baylor, ahead of the struggling Shawn Bell. He was 10-for-23 for 89 yards with two interceptions, and the Bears had only 201 total yards.

Baylor's best scoring chance came in the third quarter, but Ryan Havens' 30-yard field goal attempt was blocked by Robert Killebrew.

Charles got the game's first score on a 4-yard run, a play after Limas Sweed's impressive one-handed catch for a 45-yard gain. With two defenders on his back, Sweed reached out his left hand, grabbed the ball on a sprint and secured it before being tackled.

Charles' second TD came with 2:58 left in the first half, when he went wide to get away from a defender, then cut inside another to make it 20-0. Taylor added a 9-yard TD run before the half.

Ya done good UT! Congrats DH.

My team just got their asses handed to them by Notre Dame, but I like Notre Dame so I was not too mad. Plus I sort of expected it - the Vols are on a downward spiral.

Yeah, I watched the Tennessee game. TN just can't run the ball this year and they're eating it at every turn.

And damn, anyone else catch the Vandy/Florida game? Florida barely pulled it out in 2OT. 49 - 42, I think. That would've been a hell'va thing if Vandy had beaten the team that handed Georgia their ass last week.

And stick a fork in VaTech this year...they're done. Miami gave them all they wanted and more. 27 - 7 Miami.

AND Auburn beat the snot out of Kentucky 49 - 27.

Yeah, I'm glad the Hokies lost. I don't know what it is with BCS voters, but they definitely have an anti-Big 12 bias. It's not UT's fault that the Big 12 sucks...fuck their 'strength of schedule' shit.

So, it's looking like Texas will be playing Colorodo in the Big 12 Championship game and then on to the national championship game against... those bastards USC. Alabama is the only other undefeated team, but I don't think they're going to make it to #3. I think Miami is going to probably take it, even being 7-1.

It's going to be up to the Longhorns this year to fight the good fight against those USC fuckers, DH!
