Yup, she had the loop whereas Kim didn't. However, Yu-Na had two triple lutzes and two salchows whereas Sotnikova did two flips and two toe-loops, which narrows the gap somewhat.

However, her components scores are where it gets ridiculous.

US Women just blew the hockey game in overtime. 3-2.

What fucking bullshit. Seriously. Adelina should NOT have won. The fact that she did is a travesty. The fact that she had such a high technical score is one thing, the fact that her components were so high is another. Just because the system allowed her to win doesn't mean A) the judges were doing their job and B) a system that allows Adelina to win is the right system.

    I am seething.

The judges who gave Sotnikova +3 on nearly everything apart from her triple-double-double have got some explaining to do.

I'm anxious to see this choreography and interpretation that garnered 9.75s, too. Wowza.

Wait, are you suggesting that the judging of Russian competitors at Russian games might be biased?! Surely not.

My granddad would be raging that the entire thing was rigged. Hell he thought everything was rigged.

I wonder how Lipnitskaya would have done had she gone clean in both programs. Silver?

There was some poor sportsmanship from the audience as well. Only making noise when Russians were skating, the chanting while YuNa was waiting for her marks. It's one thing to be rooting for your country but still appreciating that others are doing good as well and there is this.

The Russian audience was extremely rude and boisterous. It was highly unusual for a figure skating event and plenty of people felt it was distracting. But that comes with the Olympics I guess; you're not getting a figure skating audience, you're getting an audience of nationalistic sports fans who cheer the same for skating as they do for hockey.
