Default Is anyone watching The Olympics??

I am curious if anyone is actually interested or watching The Olympics---in particular anyone in the European countries (and of course North American countries as well).
I have watched a bit, maybe a half hour total so far and just cannot get into it. I ususally do watch some events; skiing/figure skating, etc. There just seems to be a real lack of excitement...or caring.

Am I the only one not giving a crap?

Too bad Alex is STRAIGHT! He's all mine baby.

I've been watching them off and on, depending on what I have to do and what else is on TV.

I'm a figure skating fanatic, so yes. As far as the men go, I love Evan Lysacek, so you can imagine I'm a little peeved right now that he's back in 10th place after the short program. I can't stand Matt Savoie, and I think Johnny Weir is irritating. I usually like the Russian skaters better anyway!

I LOVE the Olympics!

I am following religiously, women's hockey, curling, luge etc (love the skeleton! those guys are nuts!), both long and short track skating, skiing, oh hell, I love all of it! I am in awe of all the athletes, these guys give up so much just for the love of their sport. Good thing I am still sick at home, I would hate to miss any of it!

Go Canada go!

I watch the figure skating. Did anyone else see the nasty fall the Chinese pair had a few days ago? The woman came out of a throw and landed clam first on the ice. She strained a ligament in her knee, but she got up and they finished the program perfectly. Even managed to snag the silver medal.

Yes! The Zhang couple! I winced every time they replayed it. But they did amazing once they restarted!

Nope and I don't plan watching/attending the Commonwealth Games which are being held in Melbourne next month either. We are seriously thinking of getting outta here to avoid the madness.

Did you get to see his performance tonight? It was flawless. I watched a snippet of an interview with him after he skated and he said that he'd had the stomach flu and was dehydrated during the short program. They stuck IVs in him to pump him full of fluids and his veins collapsed. Sounds rough, but he really pulled together tonight.
