You're right actually, if it's a very extreme disconnection. I guess my point was that you can have a very deviated septum that is only apparent internally, and in those cases, there would be no visible change. My husband's septum was basically lightning-bolt shaped, he had it fixed, and there was no outward change whatsoever. I believe Jennifer in this case as well, because the "after" result is so similar to the "before".
