Ofra Haza's (R.I.P) nose job(s?)
She's had her nose done in 1979 first - and possibly again, two years later. Not sure if it was done again or that it was the swelling that came off. She's also rumored to having breast implants in the 90's and I believe that a facelift is possible too.
You can judge by these clips:
-Her original nose - " Im Nin Alu" (1979 Original Video)
-Later this year, short time after her first nose job (it might be her only nose job, but the swelling made it appear bigger) - "You Call Me"
-Later, in the 80's, maybe another nose job (if happened - was done in 1891 I think) or just the swelling that came off - " Im Nin Alu"
-And this is how she looked in the 90's (she died of Aids in 2000 ) -
"Leorech Hayam"
Beautiful voice and woman.

I think she had a (good) nose job, but I still cannot recognise this woman, I don't know who she is.
She looks still anonymous even if she had a makeover.

YouTube - Ofra Haza - Daw Da Hiya
One more vid - this is her at her best, singing about women's rights - vid done in tribute to the woman who was supposed to have been stoned to death last year. (Her singing starts one minute in - beautiful.)
Iggy Pop doing the voiceover narrative.

I love Yemenite Songs, I just put it on repeat and listen, she had a heavenly voice. I'm so sorry for the way she died. If she had sought help she might have lived longer, maybe even still be alive today.
No comment on the nose, I think it was a good nose job, it didn't distort her features.

YouTube - Ofra Haza - Im Nin Alu
I just had to post another. THIS is the one I was looking for. Someone had posted one that was deleted due to copyright infringement.
This is a GREAT song, she is beautiful, and her voice is heavenly. (She was of Yemeni and Israeli descent.)
Yanna, I read up on her, she was a simple girl with an amazing talent, the thugs got to her and controlled her career (husband in particular). She died of complications of HIV, he had it first and most likely gave it to her. He was a heroin addict and reportedly got her on it too. He died not long after she did. Such a waste.

I've read on that scum she was married to as well. There was just such a stigma on AIDS and she might have been able to get some help but secrecy was more important. It was very sad.
I love Im Nin Alu and also Ode Le elli from the album Yemenite Songs

She covered that song though, it was Shully Natan's originally (Ofra's version was much better, though )

I'm from Israel, so it's very easy finding her CD's here...dunno how it is in the rest of the world. You can probably find some of her albums in Amazon. If you want, I can send you some by msn/icq.
