One thing I do intend to make this summer for dessert is a large bowl of ambrosia. Love that stuff. And it is great right out of the fridge.

Buy a wok and stir fry...you can experiment with these things like crazy with veggies, any meat of choice, marinades, etc. I've had my wok for about 20 years as they last forever and they're cheap. If there's an oriental market near you, that's where you can find them the cheapest.

Right! For a nice healthier fruit salad, I like to use:
    Yougurt - vanilla
    blueberries
    strawberries
    grapes
    bananas
    mandarin oranges

I heart Cavender's because my dad used it when he cooked.

Summer time, we go light. Sandwiches and salads during the week, heavier meals on the weekend.

RE: dressings -- love the Penzy's spices for making those. Maybe one of these days will try from scratch, but they work.

Having said all that I confess to a bottle of Cardini's Caesar Dressing in my fridge
Oh, yay. Have one in mine. Always.

no shit! it is too hot to be cooking everyday! Sunday is my "cook in the house, maybe" day. Yesterday, I cooked a cabbage dish:
    two pounds of ground beef/hamburger
    1 onion chopped
    garlic (however much you want)
    1 head of cabbage
1 can tomato sauce (i used a big can)
    1 big can of rotel

And a pot of beans and some rice. Anything else anyone wants this week will either be cooked on the grill or microwave...

Try Tarragon Vinegar. You shouldn't pay more than 6 or 7 dollars. It's mellow and tart at the same time. It's a nice change for me from balsamic. Although, I just bought a bottle of White Balsamic so we'll see.

Oh I like that. I've replaced anything that takes mayonnaise with 0 percent Greek Yogurt. I don't miss it in tuna salad either.

Here's yet another variation of the old feta, watermelon and basil salad. I added pitted Calamata olives. Sometimes I throw in those mini mozzarella balls sliced in half. I use the tiniest bit of balsamic which absorbs into the watermelon and makes it taste wicked good. In fact, if people ate watermelon with some aged balsamic on it, it replaces a fattening dessert.

I used a wide, round, shallow bowl - a pasta bowl. I'll eat it for 3 days.

Here's my fresh dill, chicken, sundried tomato and greek yogurt salad

    tuna, mozzarella, etc. salad

Balsamic vinegar, orange juice and fresh garlic marinade over chicken filets

Cooked in the marinade on the stove top. Remove chicken and scrape drippings to deglaze with a little water and then you've got a nice sauce.

With fresh broccoli and roasted garlic

yum, Chalet! So, the greek yogurt in tuna instead of mayo is good?
