Yeah I'm seeing them now too. I don't know if the store ones would be as good...call me weird but for some strange reason I wanna either be the one to do it or at least see the 'shoving in' process of anything stuffed that I'm going to eat. Tarts or things like stuffed chicken breast cutlets don't count. I'm talking about stuffed carcasses.

^^ When I watched Paula make hers, she had all the birds deboned, and she laid them one on top of the other, and rolled the whole thing up. There was no actual shoving involved. Not that it makes the dish any more appealing to me. I would still pass.

A chicken stuffed in a duck's ass stuffed in a turkey's ass? Does she shove it up her own ass when she's done? Leaves the mouth free for dessert!

So you've said, Sput. Have you had tripe? I saw Julia Child make it on her old show. I'm still traumatized. I lost my interest in beef about a year ago. Just like that. But way back when my fave steak au poivre - Raoul's, Prince Street. The best.

Disgusting carnivore here, too. I don't really like beef heart, but tripe is OK. Kind of like a more tender version of the chewy fat on steak.

I've never had turducken (and the name is abominable), but I don't find it strange at all. Other than the sugar in the brine, it doesn't really sound bad. Wealthy people through history have been eating some version of this and I can see this have been a big hit in the middle ages and Renaissance. It would have been a sign of wealth and prosperity, as in, "Look at me, I have ALL the food EVER on my table all at once!"

    And there's also this.

Not sure if it's legend or real, but I wouldn't put it past some of the wealthy Middle Eastern royal families and rich traders in the past to have eaten something like that.
