    Coca Cola Salad? I'm intrigued.

That reminds me of a cook here - Nigella Lawson. She has a recipe for cooking a ham joint in a cheap bottle of cola and swears it is the nicest tasting ham ever. Never tried it though

I'm intrigued. I have a book called "Square Meals" that has a lot of great 50s recipes. Their "He-Man Tuna Casserole" is superb. They like to use white everything, and lots of beverages like 7-Up and Coke.

PB I am a collector of the weirdest cookbooks, particularly the ones my mother in law gets from her retirees organizations and ones with regional recipes by the locals.

SVC the Coca Cola Salad recipe has been posted - http://www.gossiprocks.com/forum/sho...5402#post85402

^^ Those women's committee cookbooks are the best. I have a few myself that my mother gave me -- incredible farm recipes -- plus some I've found in thrift stores and at yard sales. I love leafing through them. Almost all the recipes are good, too.
