Default Pumpkin seeds. Now that I got them, what to do with them?

I'm thinking of sprinkling them on salads. Got any ideas or recipes I should try where I can use them?

Are they salted in the shells? or roasted out of the shells?

Roasted out of the shells are great for snacks, granola and especially over salads. There is a restaurant here that does a "grilled" caesar salad. They get a quick sear on a head of romaine, sliced lengthwise, topped with grilled chicken, shrimp or thinly sliced beef, a spicy caesar dressing and topped with pumpkin seeds. It's so good.

I love the salted ones in the shell. I eat those as snacks all the time.

Out of the shells but pretty sure they're not roasted. I can just roast them myself, I guess. The salad you describe sounds pretty awesome. I'll try to make something similar.

Make banana bread and sprinkle them on top. Any bread really, I just usually make quick breads.

Experiment with different seasonings, oil, and honey to roast and flavor them. Use on top of salads, cereals, homemade granola bars... oh, the list is endless.
During Halloween, I make homemade pumpkin cinnamon buns. Roasted the seeds, topped the buns with it along with a brown sugar/butter mixture. Yum!

When I clean my pumpkin at Halloween, I clean the seeds of pumpkin matter and roast them in the oven with butter, garlic powder, salt, pepper. They are a great snack, shell and all.

They're good on soup, too, like pumpkin soup, tomato soup, or any creamed soup.

I normally just have pumpkin seeds in salads but the roasting recipe sounds delicious. Roll on Hallowe'en so I can try it!!

You can use olive oil instead of butter when you roast them.

I made some kickass Cajun Parmesan pumpkin seeds tonight. A little oil, Cajun spice, garlic powder mixed with the seeds then I spread them in a pan and dotted a little butter and parm cheese on top and baked at 425 until browned.

For those that are mentioning shelled seeds...are you shelling them yourself or buying them? If you are shelling them - how the heck are you doing it?

A tea cup of balsamic vinegar, two soup spoonfuls of honey.or double it for a bigger salad.Boil it together in a low fire until surface is covered by bumbles.Poor seeds in and mix well.Use in mixed salads,or to marinate veggies to roast. In that case you add some oregano.
