    Default Festive treats and drinks?

I'm organizing a big Xmas event so I need some festive nibbles/snacks and drinks. It's kind of a party with bands so not really looking for food, more just little novelty nibbles. I was thinking eggnog and festive jello shots and I have no idea what else.

Does anybody have any good festive drink recipes or novelty snack ideas?

Lots of salted nuts. Chocolate covered nuts. Actually, holiday M&M's or little cups of Trash would be nice. You can get huge containers at Sams or Costco's.

    From Cooks.com:

    2 c. Wheat Chex
    2 c. Corn Chex
    1 c. mixed nuts, salted
    1/2 c. butter
    1 1/2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
    2 c. Rice Chex
    2 c. Bran Chex
    1 c. pretzel sticks
    1 1/4 tsp. seasoned salt
Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Heat butter in a shallow baking pan in the oven until melted. Remove. Stir in the seasoned salt and Worcestershire sauce. Add Chex, nuts and pretzels. Mix until all pieces are coated. Heat in oven 1 hour. Stir every 15 minutes. Spread on absorbent paper to cool. Makes about 9 cups. Can be frozen.

What's Trash? Chex are those little cereal thingies yeah?

I was going to get a hot nut bar, you can hire them and choose a few kinds of nuts to have.

I was thinking of making red and green ice cubes to put in clear drinks? Perhaps the flavour could compliment the drink so as it melts it just adds a nice taste.

Any good Xmas drink/cocktail recipes? Alcoholic preferably.

A dirty hot nut bar might go down better with everyone than boring old peanuts and cashews!! Good idea msdeb, you know how to get the party started obviously.

I love the sherbert/lime punch. You know what I mean? You buy the big frozen tub of sherbert and pour the ginger ale in it. I love that stuff. The green one is the best.

I'm guessing it's what Southerners call Chex Mix. It's basically what the recipe calls for, you can buy it premade in bags too. And yes, it's main ingredient is the cereal.

Get some candy molds - the kind for peanut butter cups is good, the deeper the better, and some molding chocolate. Make little chocolate "shot glasses" and fill them with peppermint schnapps. (Rumpleminze and the best quality dark melting chocolate you can find is ideal, generic schnapps and regular molding chocolate is fine, too.) The idea is to drink the mini-shot, then eat the "glass".

Although I've never tried it, it, it should work with other liqueurs, too, like Chambord, Cointreau, Amaretto, Kirsch... any flavor that sounds good with chocolate.

When we serve the champagne and chocolate decadance we buy pre-made chocolate cups. You google them, lots of places online sell them.
    The cherry bomb is red.

Red and green ice cubes might turn the clear drink a brownish color when they melt if they are used in the same glass.
