one of my favorite dinners is black bean dip. RanchStyle (that's the brand) canned black beans are YUMMY (they are already seasoned) I heat them up, melt in some chedder, add chopped onion, extra garlic, tomato, hot sauce..whatever. And eat it with lower fat tortilla chips. SO FREAKING GOOD!
And can you say CHEAP?

Re: Black Bean Dip
I've been fixing a similar dish; in addition to the salsa, beans, and tortillas, I usually add some rice (I like the Zatarain's microwaveable pouches) and a can of salmon, and usually a packet of taco seasoning. But I'm gonna have to look for those Ranch Style Beans. Thanks for the tip

Re: Black Bean Dip
How are ranch beans different from other black beans?
Or are they not?

Re: Black Bean Dip
I'm making it for dinner. My sister's a vegetarian and it's only me and her tonight, so I figured I'd try it. That and we always have beans in our house so I didn't have to go shopping in the snowstorm.

Re: Black Bean Dip
It really is great. I am planning to make it again this weekend to take to the (future) in-laws. I am actually getting a little excited about it...
