Eggless Chocolate Cake~ Depression Cake

This is easy to make and very moist. Just mix it all in the pan.

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup white sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 cup cocoa powder
6 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 tablespoon white vinegar
1 cup strong brewed coffee, water or pop


Preheat oven to 350 degrees F Mix ingredients in a 8x 8 ungreased pan.

Bake for 30 to 40 minutes, or until tooth pick comes out clean.

Frost or sprinkle cake with powdered sugar

I usually leave the salt out, the baking soda is salty enough for my taste. My sons like the cake made with cherry pop, but I prefer coffee.
