Default Cream Cheese & Crescent Roll Dessert?

Recently at a party I had a dessert to die for. I didn't get the recipe but was told that it was made with crescent rolls and cream cheese with sugar and cinnamon sprinkled on top. I could probably wing it but thought maybe someone had the recipe. I searched Pillsbury with no luck.

WOW! That was fast, thanks! I bought the cream cheese and rolls last night. I guess I'll start my diet after I make this.

Yes it does. I was going to use the Saint Gewie Lewie cake recipe for the cream cheese part, but now I won't have to wing it. My son loves cream cheese desserts so he's gonna love it. I figured someone on here would have the recipe.

the cream cheese dessert sounds AMAZING! i can't wait till my bf gets back to the country...this is something he would just love.

sidenote: another fantastic (seemingly odd) little cream cheese appetizer thing is to use flour tortillas and spread them with cream cheese and cranberry sauce. roll them up and cut into little pinwheels. tastes soo good.

    Oh I was just wondering...
Do Americans call Croissants Crescent rolls? or are they something totally different?

i'm a Canadian too but i'm pretty sure crescent rolls are specifically the pillsbury quick bake quasi home made version of croissants. i think croissants are what you buy in the bakery and the same as what we think they are here.

To me they are 2 different rolls. When I was told about this dessert the lady told me croissant rolls, but I figured she meant crescent rolls that are sold like the biscuits in the can in the frig section. Pillsbury, you have them in Canada don't you?

yea I've seen the pillsbury crescent rolls but they looked like mini croissants to me so I wondered if Americans call croissants crescents just like when some ppl called french fries freedom fries.

Sigh. The translation of the French word 'croissant' into English is 'crescent'. If you can't handle them Forn words then by all means use the English but it should mean the same item. One of these.

I may attempt this with light cream cheese and reduced fat crescent rolls tonight. Got PMS like crazy and want something sweet to snack on. I'll let you guys know how it goes if I do.

I haven't tried this recipe yet, but I will. I had to buy another cream cheese but now that I've got it, I've got no excuses. Going to set the cream cheese out to soften. Hope it turns out as good as it was at the party.
