I don't even remember where I got this brownie recipe, but it is so easy and yummy! Plus they're the perfect item to bring to a party.
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
Preheat oven to 350F. Melt butter in the microwave oven. Stir in white sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Add cocoa powder, flour, salt and baking powder. Combine thoroughly.
Bake for 25-30 minutes in a greased and floured 8-inch square pan. Or ~12 minutes in a lined mini tart pan.
(You can also add in 1/2 cup of nuts, chocolate, etc.)
Pipe on melted semisweet chocolate (either melt in the microwave or over double boiler. Or top with ganache:
2 oz semisweet/bittersweet chocolate
3 tbsp whipping cream
1 tsp butter
Heat cream and butter in microwave oven until bubbling slightly. Add in chocolate and stir until well combined. Sprinkle on toasted chopped peanuts, if desired, before the ganache cools.
