One thing I do think is that whole "tampons don't hurt" speech they give to elementary and middle school girls is sort of misleading. Everyone I know who wasn't already sexually experienced felt some degree of pain/discomfort the first few times using them. I think it takes a while before you get to the point where you can't feel it.

Well, TMI, but because my 'flow' has been heavy in the past couple of years, I've had no choice but to use grande super duper pads. But in a few weeks, I'll have a partial-hysterectomy and my period problem will be solved.

Definitely tampons, no offense to anyone who uses pads but I'd prefer not to sit around in my own "flow" all day. When I was in HS, there was this girl who only wore pads and I'm sorry but you could smell that nast a mile away. It seems more sanitary to me to use tampons.

My first experience with a tampon was pretty hilarious, we were at the beach with my family and of course we decided to go to a water park. So I had to use a tampon if I wanted to go. I couldn't figure it out so my mom had to do it for me. It was embarrassing at the moment but hell now I can just laugh at it and remember the bonding experience we had...

my last three cycles i have been using a diva cup, and i will never go back to tampons again. the diva cup rocks. once you get used to it, you pop it in and voila! and i don't leak like i do on tampons, less mess, no odor, and i feel like a real hippie chick. heh.
