Product Review: Revlon Fabulash Waterproof Mascara
Fabulash Mascara Waterproof ($6.49) has the same type of brush as Revlon's original (and amazingly good) Fabulash Mascara, but that's where the similarities start and stop. The waterproof version does hold up when lashes get wet, but the application and wear is far from fabulous. Although this mascara lengthens and provides decent thickness, it clumps along the way, applies unevenly, and flakes throughout the day, not to mention it makes your lashes feel dry and crispy. Almay (owned by Revlon) produces much more reliable waterproof mascaras, as do frontrunners L'Oreal and Maybelline New York.

Re: Product Review: Revlon Fabulash Waterproof Mascara
I've never had much success with waterproof mascaras. And come to think of it, I've never really needed one either - I've cried and been out in the rain with regular mascaras on and they've actually never run on me, as long as I didn't rub my eyes.

I didn't know Almay was owned by Revlon.

Neither did I. I still have not found a better mascara for me than Great Lash, the stuff in the bright pink and green tube. Love. It.

Re: Product Review: Revlon Fabulash Waterproof Mascara
Follow Up (not exactly new info though):
Dear Paula,
I just read your Beauty Bulletin and assessment of Revlon's Waterproof Fabulash. I bought both the regular Fabulash because of the great review, and the Waterproof because of the occasional need for one. What a difference! The regular was great, just like you said; the Waterproof went on flaky and crumbly, just like you said! In fact I bought another Waterproof thinking maybe the first had just been on the shelf too long, but it was exactly the same. My faith in your reviews is bolstered even further! Thanks!
Jane, via email
Dear Jane,
Thank you very much for your positive, thoughtful note. We work so hard to provide the best information possible and strive for accuracy in our research and evaluation process. It is always gratifying to know our reviews have not only helped someone find the best product but their own experience is spot-on to ours. Personally, for me, mascara, is of special interest because I am fanatic about making my lashes as long and thick as possible. Finding the right mascara makes all the difference in the world and the criterion is rather strict in this arena, as you now are well aware. Thank you again for taking the time to write.
