Default Monistat Anti-Chafing Gel as a foundation primer?

I know this sounds so weird. I was researching primers and came across this recommendation at a couple of make-up boards. People swear by it. I watched a couple of Youtubes that think it's great too. It's not medicinal. It supposedly dries to a powdery smooth finish and makes your make-up last for hours. So I ordered some online. Has anyone else tried it? Can't beat the price at $7 a tube.

I'll let you all know how it turns out. I have to wonder why the first person to use it as a primer put that stuff on their face?

I'd imagine if it's for delicate chaffing skin, then it wouldn't hurt your face.

Yeah have heard that it works really well in this regards. Still just an odd concept.

i'm guessing (not having seen the ingredients list) that it probably contains things like silicones or maybe even silicia. that will give you a smooth powder base.

It can't be any worse for you than slapping hemorrhoid cream of your face.

I dare not ask how you've come to put monistant on your face, but if it works well and doesn't irritate the skin, then by all means use it.

i just did a search of this because i bought some monostat chafing cream tonight after reading about it online and wanted to share my results.

HOLY SHIT. it's exactly like smashbox primer. lol. when you squeeze it out of the tube it's a cloudy slick gel.

ingredients are: cyclopentasiloxane, dimethicone, dimethecone crosspolymer, trisiloxane, silica and blah blah.

worked perfect. no difference between the two products.

paid 7 bucks for 1.5 fl oz

smashbox goes for like 40 bucks for 1 fl oz

i bought it in the grocery store next to the condoms lol.

I like it better than Urban Decay's eye primer. Shadow applies smoother and blends easier than the UD primer.

Still love going through airport security with it in my little ziploc baggie.

I ordered mine online to spare that embarrassment. lol.

It works great. I've found that you shouldn't put it on too thick and wait until it's completely dry before you put your base make-up over it. It makes my skin look poreless and I have a few big ass pores.

Another thing: I stupidly put some on my forehead in the morning, you know just doing my face. Later on in the day, I went for a hike. I got sweat combined with Monistat in my eyes. It was so bad! I'm lucky I was with a friend to help me home because my eyes swelled shut. I couldn't really see without stinging for about three days. I kept rinsing my eyes with Saline. I suppose if I had gone to a doctor, he could have given me something to heal quicker or for pain. But I kept thinking "I'll have to tell him I have Monistat for vaginal itching in my eyes!" So I just toughed it out. If you're planning on sweating at all, don't use it above your eyes.

I still use it though. Just not on my forehead. Live, suffer and learn LOL.
