Why I stopped buying expensive nail polish
I used to buy OPI nail polish all the time, cause everyone said it was the best. I was wanting some new neon and black colors, so I bought some cheap brand called NYC (New York Colors). Its in Target and I'm sure lots of other places. They're like 94 cents.
To my astonishment, they last really well. If you apply two coats and a top coat of shiny, it will last quite a while. They last longer than the six dollar and up brands. And they have great trendy colors.

Every year on the "best buy" In cosmetics,Targets scores high. One year their make up brushes did far better than the knock-you-over priced ones. This sounds good, but I still love OPI.

I have all sorts of nail color from Chanel, MAC and OPI etc. What I love about the MAC is that it only requires one coat if you are in a rush and is super shiny!

I got a Seventeen nail polish as a gift once, and it was CRAP. Started chipping as soon as I put it on.
I quite like L'Oreal nail polish, and it's not too pricey too.

I cannot use cheap nail polish, I type way too much and it chips in a day.

I buy NYC stuff, too. It's good quality stuff for the price. I really like their plumping gloss.

I love Mac, Mary Kay and Estee Lauder products, but I can attest to the fact that NYC is a surprisingly good quality product, especially for the price.

Sorry to go on and on about NYC nail polish, but honest to God. This stuff is impressive! I have a neon yellow color on right now (with topcoat) and this stuff has lasted for so long! Like seven days! Through showers, typing and all the other stuff I do. I am amazed!
The reason I say "with topcoat," is because by itself it chips in two days or so. But still good.

I like the NYC nail polish but I bought some China Glaze nail polish and its great. I've had it on for about a week now it hasn't chipped yet, even though I've washed a million dishes, cleaned my house, cleaned my car and done a bunch of other things that I can't remember.

I bought a bright almost neon yellow handbag Tuesday. I think that is as far as I will go with the neon trend. I am too old.

i buy nail polish way too often to spend more than 2 bucks on a bottle. I'll pay more if I REALLY want the color but I'll usually hunt around to see if anyone else has it first.
I'd have to agree that NYC is the better of the cheaper brands, the colors have great shine, last a long time and don't take too long to dry. NYC cosmetics in general tend to be pretty good for a cheap brand.

Whatever the brand and even when I apply topcoat, all of my nail lacquers chip after a few hours...

^ The same happens to me too. I almost always buy cheap polish, because once it starts to chip I have a tendency to peel it off anyway. I'll never have perfect looking nails.
