I've got it bad for this Dior shadow.

    STYLISH MOVE:

    But it's $52.

As a hardcore Dior eyeshadow aficionada, I say go for it! I bought one nearly 2 years ago and it's only now starting to show wear and I use it pretty much daily. The colours are highly pigmented so you don't need to use much. I figure I have at least another 1 1/2 to 2 years left on mine, so that works out to about $17 a year. Most people spend way more than that on eyeshadow in a year's time and they don't get the quality, or the convenience of having all the colours together. A friend of mine has that quad and loves it.

I know I probably spend at least $17 a year on crappy eye products. If I added up all the eyeshadows/eyeliners I've bought in the last few years, it's at least that much. And hell, I don't use but like 1/3 of them.

$52 in one whollop just seems like a lot for eyeshadow, but if I'm getting good stuff . . .

I spend more than that, but I tend to use fairly high-quality stuff. I do occasionally buy drugstore brands because some of them are good, and if it's anything trendy, I definitely go drugstore. I bought another Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner last week -- Bronze Shimmer -- and it was $28. But again, the stuff lasts forever, and stays on all day so you don't use much. I expect that pot of gel liner to last at least two years or more.

And yeah, eyeshadow is of vital importance, hehe.

My daughter and I visited the Dior counter last Friday. I too was shocked when I saw the price, but I plan to buy it when I can. I'm tired of cheap eyeshadow that doesn't last.

I'm going on your recommendation, PB, that it lasts a long time. I'll definitely have it put on first, because there are 3 different quads that I liked. The one Laurent posted is one of them.

On another note, I had my face done by a Benefit makeup artist. He did a nice job on my eyes, and I decided to sleep in the eye makeup to see how it lasts. I couldn't believe it when the shadow was intact the following morning. It lasted all that day, too.

^^Yep. The heavily pigmented stuff is made to stay on.

    Ooo pretty!

I'd justify it by saying it's such good quality it'll save me buying lots of cheaper products having one good quality one!

I tend to buy the cheaper shadows for two reasons. One, it's hard for me to commit - I do something for a little while and then quit using it for a time. I'm hesitant to drop $50+ on something and me not use it. Two, I'm still not that confident in my shadow skillz - I feel like I still apply like a 13 year old girl.

Both of these could probably be solved by me taking myself to Dior and having them give me a lesson.

^^That's exactly what I did. I just love the convenience of having it all in one. That said, I do use other shadows from time to time, but not often. I bought the NYX shadow trio for the holiday season --even tho I probably have all the dramatic colours in it crammed under my bathroom sink somewhere -- but I like to have them in one container and sometimes you just have to have "new."

    I totally relate, both issues

I think definitely having your eyes made up first is the way to go. I really liked what the guy used, and it wasn't my choice, it was his. I felt like it really did something for me, but I need to learn how to apply it. I've always been terrible at applying eyeshadow.

I bought a similiar Dior eyeshadow combo years ago and it lasts forever. I love it. You could get one with lighter colors if you are worried about how heavy it looks.

I love the shadows by Body Shop. These little pots are about
half an inch deep. I may never have to buy again. The price is reasonable, approx $18.00.

    PRECIOUS CARAT

    Glossy Jewels Lipstick

It's $62 But looks so pretty, I like the case, too. (Maybe the case itself it more expensive than the actual lip gloss in it???)

If you think it's crazy, you ain't seen a thing. Just wait until we're goin down in flames.
