Default Blue-based lipstick and gloss colors

I'm very pale and cool toned, so I can only pull off blue-based colors.

I'm getting BORED with my usual colors, so can anyone recommend some of their blue-based faves? Or maybe some cool toned color you think looks pretty, even if you can't wear it yourself?

It looks pink (?) on the Chanel website, but my favorite is their Aqualumiere in Portofino.

Cover Girl has a shade called Really Red that is blue based.

MAC has some beautiful holiday reds. I really like Queen's Sins

MAC's Indian Red is a classic blue-toned red.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far. I'm looking at all of them online.

PB, I can't find an Indian Red by MAC - the only one I can find is by Christian Dior. Is that the one you meant?

Yes, sorry, I should have been more specific. I don't know if MAC still makes Russian Red, but that's a less expensive alternative. Indian Red by Dior is one of the very few blue reds that I can wear.

I'm very pale and cool toned as well. I haven't really worn lipstick in ages because I never thought it looked good on me, but just in the past week I've taken to wearing my Tarte cheek stain in 'Tickled' on my lips. It's so perfect because it's a stain, so it goes on very subtle and you can build it up just by adding more. It ends up as a red, which I've been looking for forever, but it's a light, bright colour that reminds me of the fifties and sixties.

Anyway, that's probably more info than you needed, lol - but my recommendation is definitely to try a stain in a tone you like, and build it up as much as you want. As pale as I am, I find almost all lipsticks too dark, and I don't always want the look of a gloss.

I am very jellus of all you pale, cool-toned girls! I am stuck with mauve and cocoa (very lightly applied) for the rest of my life. Anything else looks wretched.

Even tho I'm a typical blue-eyed blonde, I have olive skin and tend to wear brownish-reds, charcoal grey, brown and coral-tinged makeup. I love Christian Dior eyeshadow quints because they give PERFECT color combos that last forever on your eye and in the case. I bought one about 2 years ago and I use it nearly every day summer and winter and I've yet to have one shadow get a "hole" in it. Tremendous value for the $45. It seems like a lot when you buy it, but it really lasts. The pigment is fantastic.

Believe me or not, I found a perfect red for one dollar today.

I was in the drugstore and walked by NYC Cosmetics, glanced down, saw this red 308B Retro Red and said what the heck, it's a dollar.

It's so creamy, not greasy, true, clear, red. Buildable color. I was shocked and amazed. It looks like a YSL or Dior red, not cheap lipstick. I'm going to investigate more of their line.

The color on the website isn't true. It's a real red. In real life it looks more like Firefly.

NYC lippies have great ratings on MakeupAlley. It's hard to believe they're only a buck.

I grabbed two new lippies on sale while I was in the drugstore today. Both Cover Girl:

    Cherry Brandy

    Classic Red

I'm not sure if you can tell the difference between them in the pics.

Dark reds are not my usual, but I'm liking them. The whole point was to branch out into new colors and beyond the norm, so good on that count. I'm not sure how appropriate they'd be for everyday, but these are doing nice things for the teeth color I think. The first one especially has to be applied with a light hand or else I look like my avatar. But not in a good way.

Can't wait to try out some of the other suggestions made in this thread, too.

So Rite-Aid and the like has this brand? Looks great. I like the Cherry Brandy, applied opaquely.
