Believe It or Not: The Vajacial - Fashion + Beauty on Shine
Now that everyone and their mothers get Brazilian waxes, it seems there's a need to take matters to the next level. Stript Wax Bar in San Francisco offers the 50 minutes—we couldn't make this up if we tried—Vajacial, a facial-like service with a papaya enzyme peel, a mask, and a vitamin C lightening cream.

If that's not bizarre enough for you, the technicians at Completely Bare in New York City reported a recent uptick in what's known as their "Vajazzle" service, which involves gluing Swarovski crystals anywhere you want down there (and we do mean anywhere).
Beyond the wackiness of these services, the question is: Are they safe? A gynecologist we spoke with had no concerns. And New York City dermatologist Jeannette Graf said that while mild irritation is possible, "most women probably won't have a reaction." Except, perhaps, embarrassment.
