This is exactly what he does NOT need. I love him, but come on, this is ridiculous! Only NINE months into the presidency, and quite frankly, traveling the world and whatnot doesn't count for a peace prize.
It only feeds into his detractors.

Beyonce was robbed.
The fact that his name was put into consideration 10 days into his presidency - which was the deadline- says so much about the award selection process. This is like inducting a minor league shortstop with a .200 batting average into the baseball hall of fame.
What was it that Obama did in the first two weeks of his Presidency that warranted this? It’s entirely absurd.
In the past the committee has nominated Joseph Stalin and Adolf Hitler for the award, so how they come up with the required achievements is a bit sketchy. Gandhi was nominated 5 times, but didn't win.
He could show some humility and decline the award. Let's see if he'll do that.
