    When I was in college, I had a huge crush on a classmate who was Samoan. Ironically, she was really petite and slim.

    I think it has more to do with the fact that Polynesians are genetically predisposed to keeping weight on, probably due to historically scarce resources (Exhibit A--- football players in the U.S. of Samoan descent are huuuuuuge). And now with the availability of pre-packaged, processed, and junk foods, porking out is inevitable.
