^^Don't have to give up coffee, just buy shade-grown organic if you can. Re. Nutella, I found a hazelnut spread I prefer. It's called Pralinutta, made in Belgium. No transfats and no palm oil, and it's cheaper too!

czb, from what I've read, they test for genetically modified cross pollination during the ""100% Organic" certification process, which has to be renewed annually.

KrisNine, we get Mexican Coke here too. When we used to drink soda, that was so much better than the HFCS stuff.

^^^ constance - yes, they test, but they can't test *every* plant in the field. just by the nature of pollination, there would be NO way to assure that a plant in a non-GMO field is not GMO. sad, but true .....

^^Yes, that's true. Especially since GMO's are the standard now.

I'm fine with eating less beef, sticking to organic, non-GMO products, etc.. For common sense reasons.

But the thing is, if our species would just do something about overpopulation, that would REALLY make a positive difference to the rainforests and everything else. It's gonna come to a point where it doesn't matter how tiny your fucking carbon footprint is, it's STILL too much because there are simply TOO MANY OF US.

So in other words, stop bullshitting, human race. It's not foods that are killing the planet. It's us.

No way, most of the humans in our neck of the woods look like they'd be way too high in cholesterol.
