I'm not quite drunk enough to really care, but is this her violation of her violation of her violation of her violation of probation or her violation of her violation of her violation of her probation????? ~MontanaMama on LL's latest arrest.

    here is the quote

Rissi noted that the Humane Society of the United States also has worked on the investigation, citing well-known U.S. companies, including J.C. Penney, Burlington Coat Factory, Bloomingdale's, Sak's Fifth Avenue and Macy's, for selling Chinese-produced fur products, sometimes labeling them as "faux fur" or raccoon when the actual product is from a raccoon dog.

I don't either, why not knock them out first at least? There needs to be some reasonable standards these fuckers should abide by.
Either way, this is pretty devastating.

Oh Jesus, I really wish I wouldn't have clicked on this thread...this is absolutely revolting! But then again, in China they eat dogs and apparently fetuses!!!

What the fuck is wrong with them!?!

This just makes me want to run to Pet World and just hug and love on every single animal there.

    I can't even believe it...

Someone should skin those fuckers alive!

I think a taste of their own medicine would be terribly appropriate.

I've been contemplating trying to boycott Chinese made items for a while. It IS a difficult proposition. But I think I'm going to do it. And I'm emailing friends about it, too. Most of my friends, like me, are animal people.

You know, I avoided looking at the pictures in this thread, and I can't watch any of those documentaries. I've been with humans in the aftermath of a horrible car wreck and in some pretty gory situations and I stood up to it quite well. It's not that I don't have the same empathy for humans that I do for animals, 'cause I do. But I feel like, if I watched those documentaries and looked in detail at the pics in this thread, I'd have some kind of scary freakout. I guess the closest thing I can say is that it's like torturing children. Animals are innocents, like little kids. It's just beyond anything resembling being human, to be able to do that shit.

It doesn't make any sense, either. Why not just kill them quickly first? Why TORTURE them? Are they breeding serial killers in that messed up country? Are the fur facilities training grounds for them? It's like the most revolting X-Files episode ever.

And now, this tainted milk thing?? WTF? There are forces at work in China that are truly sick and terrifying. It bugs me that we are so f'in kissy-face with that country recently. Including the Olympics. Not the athletes' faults, but UGH.

They don't kill them quickly because they don't want to waste a bullet, or waste $ on teaching people humane methods, if they even know what they are. All leather products from China are the result of the same kind of horrific practices. And as long as people insist on rock-bottom prices and don't want to know how they get them, business is good and getting better.

I have known about these practices for years, and also practices in countries much closer to home -- a recent expose about horse slaughter in Canada was stomach churning -- but the sad reality is that most people DON'T WANT TO KNOW. And that's why it continues.

There is still a widespread belief out there that animals don't feel pain, or they're not sentient beings, and that is not only restricted to China. Factory farming and referring to animals as "product" is common right here in North America and trust me, most of the regulations are rarely or laxly enforced unless a planned inspection is afoot.

Disgusting, but those who buy these products are sick too.
