Default Election '06 Canada. Who do you support? Who do you think will win?

I don't have the right to vote but I'm just as interested and affected because I live here. Anyhoo, I want to know who you'd like to vote for and why (if you are comfortable telling). Who do you think would actually win (despite your vote)?

I wouldn't want to vote neither for liberals or conservatives. So I'm left with NDP. But I think the conservatives might win (the polls show in favour of them ATM?), which is kinda scary.

Does anyone hate those election ads on TV? All they do is just bash the opposing party.

They didn't send me a voting stub!!!!!

But the two parties have opened up little camps in our village, it's pretty pathetic looking.

The conservatives will get in with a minority government, Libs will be the opposition with the NDP sucking up most of the Lib voters who were unsure.

Since it'll be a minority gov, Harper and his bag of right-wing pantloads will be restricted in what they want to do, and will play nice for 2 years till the real election. Then, once everybody see's just how NICE the conservatives are, they'll get a majority government and THEN the real agenda will come out.

I hope you ladies enjoy your uterus barcodes, and you fags like being second class citizens again, and everyone enjoys being massively in debt thanks to unworkable conservative economic policies.

Oh right, and remember to wave your little American flag because we'll all be living in the 51st US state by then.

p.s. I dunno who I'm voting for. I'm disenfranchised with all the choices.

I think the Tories may just pull off a minority government, and when they do I'll cry. I'm voting Grits, because personally I feel they've redeemed themselves in face of the corruption as much as is possible, and I agree with their politics more. Although I know my province will end up being super NDP, god knows why though since they don't even have a BC platform as far as I know. Grr.

I think it's doubtful the NDP will gain much ground in BC. People tend to vote differently in federal politics than they do in provincial politics. I think the Libs will win some key seats, and so will the Conservatives. There are a lot of very tight races in BC. People who do vote NDP and Green will unfortunately split the vote and give the Conservatives a bigger chance of getting a minority government.

I could be wrong, but I'm predicting another Liberal minority govt. Harper hasn't fooled everybody, even though the media is drooling all over him. Martin sucks, but the Libs are the lesser of the two evils.

the libs arent really evil.. they'r just bland. they're the oatmeal of politics.

I man, for the couple hundred mil that went missing, how much do you want to bet Mulroney gorged on, or Harris? or any conservative asshole.

They always ALWAYS rank 1st when it comes to corruption because theyre all about big business and money over people.

I really hope you're right! I just recalled reading in the newspaper that the NDP had a big lead here or something. But you are very right about people changing in provincial versus federal politics. My riding votes NDP provincially, but last election they voted Conservative! Makes no sense. I doubt it will happen again, seeing as Gurmant was that Tory. Hehe.

I see it as voting for the devil you know, versus the devil you don't almost. And also the fact that Stephen Harper scares the heck out of me.

Adriane Carr ran in my riding once for a provincial election. I'm sorry, but I couldn't bring myself to vote for someone with teeth as big as hers! Lol. They are gigantic! Terrifying!

And they're her real teeth, she had them in highschool too! Eek! Lol.

I'm a bad person.

Pierre Trudeau once remarked that Canadian politics is about the
'radical center' and would remain that way -- if left to our own
devices, we would pick a government that doesn't stray too far
from centrist policies.

National Review, on the other hand, once said a Canadian is
the closest thing in nature to a liberal republican -- we want
the gov't to "do something" about health care, the economy,
gas prices etc. but we still complain about high taxes till we're
blue in the face. This is why we tend to vote for different
parties at differing levels of gov't. If we don't like the Federal
tories, then we'll vote in the provincial Liberals.

It's an attempt to have your cake and eat it too...

And I haven't voted for a while because I've been out of touch
with the issues back home -- and I doubt it makes much
difference. If I wanted to make an impact I'd become a
lobbyist.
