Condoleeza visiting Ottawa! .....(Canada's capital)

OTTAWA — Condoleezza Rice is coming to Ottawa next week for two days of talks, her first official visit as U.S. secretary of state.

Rice will meet Prime Minister Paul Martin and Foreign Affairs Minister Pierre
Pettigrew next Monday and Tuesday to discuss a range of bilateral issues.

The visit was set up during Martin's visit to the United Nations General Assembly last month.

The meeting comes as Martin and his Liberal cabinet are raising the rhetoric over the softwood lumber dispute, linking the impasse to cross-border trade in other areas, including energy exports.

Pettigrew says no two countries in the world share a more close-knit partnership than Canada and the United States.

A spokesman for Rice in Washington says the talks will include a wide range of issues of mutual concern.

Washington-Ottawa relations have been strained since Canada declined to participate in the invasion of Iraq in 2003, then backed out of participation in the U.S. missile defence shield last year.

Rice visited Ottawa as national security adviser to President George W. Bush last November, but has not come since assuming her new, wider portfolio.

I wonder if i could huck some eggs at her head..

Hopefully, there'll be some protesters at Parliament Hill so she can notice the discontent of the Canadian public with the U.S. foreign policies and their violations of the softwood lumber issue.
