People need to accept that vanity is as much a part of being human as anything else and stop fretting over it. Are looks as important in the long run as other qualities? No, but neither is wealth but it is normal to want it anyway. The more comfortable a cultures is as far as having basic needs of food, clothing, shelter met, the more the masses will concentrate on loftier aspirations like material comforts, luxury, and aesthetics. Even in third world countries where ps is obsolete, women still put dinner plate sized hoops through their lips or huge rings around their necks to make themselves look like giraffes and men tattoo themselves and do all types of body carving to demonstrate their attractiveness and social standing. It is an innate part of human nature whether pople like it or not so bitching is sort of pointless.

My mother has had a facelift and eyework done at the same time, it took a few months to look completely natural but now she just looks good, no one would ever guess it's due to plastic surgery - There's no maintenance, she hardly uses make-up now, so I think she's less concerned with her appearance now. Paradoxically people who are annoyed by something and don't use surgery can end up being more obsessed by their look than people who go under the knife and stop thinking about it

You're making a very good point lalala. I think when I get to that point (most of us do) I would still not do it. Did any of you see the actual surgery performed on tv a while back? That was enough to put me off it. Really gross and scary. The people who do it are very courageous IMO.

On the subject of implants changing a woman; I remember reading in Cosmopolitan that a woman's boyfriend paid for her breast implants because he was fed up with her insecurities and decided hed do anything to make her feel better. She got the boob job, then ended up leaving him for another guy because with breasts she was more appealing- what a load of shit, i dont see how breasts make someone 'prettier' but whatever.

So because you can't remember your own argument - which Grim systematically and eloquently ripped to shreds - he's the pathetic one? Way to debate, by using sarcasm and personal criticism to deflect from the fact that you were bitchslapped for faulty logic.

I am all for ps if that is what you want. I personally am scared of anything that involves needles, knifes, etc.. so I will keep my non-exsistent boobies and be happy. But to anyone that goes for it and doesn't get carried away with it I think it's great if you want to improve yourself.

Ugh, its always the big breasted ones that fight against implants - how can they identify? The other 'protesters' are the ones that are desperate for a solution and looking for reasons NOT to do it. "the lady doth protest too much"

I dont protest implants, i just dont see why women do it. So what if you weren't blessed with a huge rack. Plastic surgery goes against the whole idea of accepting yourself the way you are, and the existence of it puts pressure on people who have flaws and are trying to accept them, because other people say 'oh, get plastic surgery'. Whats wrong with natural. All i know is alot of people would be fucked if there was no such thing as plastic surgery.

Yeah yeah yeah, we are either big breasted and we "can't identify" or we are little breasted and "we are jealous and we are dying to get implants ourselves" or we have saggy boobs, or or or....... etc etc etc
How come the reason never seems to be that some of us just flat out don't like them, we disagree with the whole concept, we think they are physically harmful and all those other things?? That is the plain, simple and completely logical truth and that is also my personal truth. I have every reason to be against them and no reason FOR them. Plain and simple.

Probably more her confidence than her boob size I would think. She felt sexier so gained confidence- I think that would be the attractive thing, not necessarily the fake boobs x

^I agree. The story said she used to feel pretty bad about herself and she was clearly unhappy and its true that confidence is very attractive. There's lots of beautiful flat chested women, they are happy and confident regardless and i think thats more noticeable than their chest. So maybe its ok to do something that will make you more confident, because i think low self esteem and a lack of confidence is really the worst thing you can have. People who have been there, and continue to have those feelings would know what I'm talking about.
