She went from plain jane to absolutely gorgeous. Everyone who goes under the knife should be so lucky.

This is the way all plastic surgery should be - a noticable difference, but so subtle people can't agree on what you had done.

She had good plastic surgery, it acted as an enhancement to her looks, she was pretty before the surgery.

In one of Truman Capote short stories he describes spending an afternoon with her in New York where no one recognised her when she didn't have make-up on

Gorgeous after shots. She was pretty before, but not stunning like she was after the surgery.

To this day she's one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen.

Common knowledge is the nosejob and the chin implant. I think the rest is real.

She was gorgeous, but I wonder if she would have gone too far eventually if she had lived longer than her way-too-short years. I find that I feel that way about most actors today - they start off with a subtle tweak that makes them look great, but then can't help going back under the knife again and again for some unfathomable reason. And end up completely screwing up what they were trying to 'fix' in the first place.

I agree, the weight loss gave her features more definition. Ageing also didn't hurt her. Our features always become more defined as we grow out of our teen years.

She did have her teeth fixed, for sure, and that probably made a subtle difference in her facial structure.

The chin implant is probably only noticeable from the profile view...any old profile shots of her for comparison?

you spelled part of her name wrong, its Jeane not Jean.
    a common misconception though.

not only did the subtle procedures help but she put a lot of work into learning how to model and pose and look right under whatever lights and what poses/expressions worked best for her. She could turn on "Marilyn" in a mili-second!

Marlene Dietrich was an expert at this as well.

She looks good with both hair styles, doesn't she?

Her natural hair color in some of the pictures I've seen seem to be reddish.
